You look at the scoreboard 30 seconds into the match, know who's going to win, and realize there isn't much you (1 player) can do about it. Certainly there's plenty I can do about it, but messing with teams can cause more problems than it solves. Your choices are then: 1. Join the fail team and try to not lose all your hair. 2. Join the win team and pound the fail team into the ground. 3. Join spec and wait for the next map. I usually choose 3.
you can always ninja. but that doesn't work with fortress coms anymore. getting 2 grens to mine the com is hard enough, 3 is an impossibility.
Interesting how there are idiots on the forums who want to keep CVs that way isn't it? Trust me, after a couple years of Empires, that gets old. Sure... How about I put you on a newb team vs 10 seasoned vets...?
but the fact that it takes a couple of years for pwning nubs in the face to make it old is what is so special about empires.
I usually auto join and if im on the loosing team I do mine stacks or something to inflict some real damage ofcourse if its heavies I tend to loose my enthusiasm when I see an 8 stack just flip it around and not even make it smoke.
This happens at least 25% to my estimation. Hell, I usually stay in spec until the game starts just to see who the comms are. I play so little nowadays that I'd rather not spend an hour losing because of an incompetent comm and a lackadaisical team that can't be arsed to learn how to kick the comm. But I digress- usually I will spec the game and tab out to reddit or a forum or something to pass the time. SC2 has become good filler while a really good team plays cat and mouse with a bad team for 45 minutes. Or will I join either team and just dick around all game. That's fun, too. It can definitely be frustrating to finally find an hour or two to play Empires and every game is a stomp for one team, especially if you're on the losing side of it. Quit trolllin' telling Recon to play better. We all know what uneven teams look like and very very rarely will 1 person be able to micromanage a team full of new players enough to pull off a win.
arent there shuffle, disallow pick team and specs variables available with 2.25? how about we try them out for a week or two and see if it improves the gameplay. i just wonder if sportsmanship is bigger then epeen waving and ppl will stay on their assigned teams ... but sadly with all those whiny pussy staxxors i can predict a dramatic outcome already ...
I often stack because I cant stand to wait 30 minutes till my team loses, its a very depressing experience to slowly lose without anything you can do against it.
CPatton used to do that... Sometimes... I think so. Somehow I don't think so. I predict: Code: Recon: Teams are pretty unbalanced. Recon: !shuffle Entire Server: WTF YOU CHANGED MY TEAM. ABUSE! Recon: !kick @!me "Here's some real abuse for ya ;)" That's the worst... Unless HSM is on your team, then it's quite amusing...
I join the losing team and inspire other skilled players to join and help me and end up either making it a gg or win.
Same, since I usually join BE anyway (whether the stack is in BE or NF). I usually go comm and lead the anti-stack team into victory! It has actually happened for quite a few games recently.
Important part in bold. Those matches are the most fun. A little bit? You have no idea... (you've only been here three months after all)... For that to work, you need three grens on alt voice comms, and a commander who constantly spams for everyone to stay away from the enemy CV and ninja squad. Also, mines are much more likely to blow up near CVs they used to be, so gren based ninjas are harder...
well me and Hexi did it pretty easy, now another gren wouldnt be that hard. Its only hard when you think of it. All i did was hide in the radar run quickly to the comms backside and see Hexi already laying mine. When i saw him i was wondering what the hell he was doing there. And not really 3 months since i joined. I joined November or October of last year but not sure. I know for sure its last year tough. Its only hard to get there if you got turrets in the way.
Trying to get three people to cooperate requires three thinking people on the team, which sometimes, you don't have. Each additional person comes with risk (getting spotted). I think hit detection improved with the OB update, which makes mines more sensitive, and therefore, harder to ninja with (since they can go off easier if you place them too close).
