As you all know, the vehicles in Empires all have some sort of camoflague. Standard, desert, forest and snow. I just wanted to take the temperature and see what people think about it, if it adds anything at all. In my opinion, it: looks bad adds confusion to newbies takes unnecessary space So what do you say, Empires dudes? Would you cry yourself to sleep if it was removed? Don't care? Tell me what you think!
You can't see enemies for shit against certain textures. I know it is the point of the camo, but it shouldn't act like that in my opinion.
I enjoy desert and snow but the cow tanks from the urban camo I don't give a crap about. The desert ones especially make the tanks feel more real.
That wasn't a joke. I seriously never noticed camouflage in this game. Perhaps because I don't look at textures and only distinguish between models.
Candles, I know this might come out as an insult, but it takes a blind person to not notice huge chunks of white paint on models on glycen.
You are probably right about the camo being slightly confusing but, putting on and tying your shoes can be confusing the first couple of times you try when your new to it. I see this as the same thing. I rather like it as it switches things up.
I don't really like player camo (for the same reason Z!000m said), but I have no issues with vehicle camo, because they make no real difference to the game.
I meant player camo only as well. Vehs in empires can be heard from across the map anyway. They could be invisible and I still would know where they are.
Thing is, both the teams have some sort of a color theme to them. NF is red, BE is blue. When you then apply desert camo or whatever to both teams, it only serves to confuse new players. I've seen people ask which tanks are on their side and shoot at their teammates. It also adds a lot more work for me. For example, I just finished the new NF APC model, textures and everything, but now I have to spend hours on camo that looks like puke, time that could be better spent improving other models.
Imo it needs to be way easier to distinguish between the factions units and buildings. Watch someone playing for the first time run around shooting at everything. Camo does not help, although it looks kinda cool it isn't necessary I think. Tho I would miss urban camo.
I enjoyed the camo on the new BE heavy. Leave camo in. Mash, are there some easy boring tasks that you can delegate to others? I can tell you what to wear tomorrow, so you don't have to use your brain.
I love the camo on the players, tbh the vehicle camo doesn't matter since the vehicles look so very different. I probably couldn't tell the friendly/enemy infantry apart at great distance if they didn't wear such contrasting colors. however not having the camo options does not break the game because the helmet design is different and that's enough for most commercial games anyway. :D
