DLD For Missing Files For Mount..Error

My downloads aren't working anymore for some reason I am told so please refer to this page on this thread for a couple of different download links

You should be able to launch empires the normal way after these files are installed.

Also steam fixed the userid ticket issue so Epic and all other VIPER servers are working now if you have the gcfs installed

make sure you save the files somewhere else as a backup because every time I restart steam I lose the files again.

 

That's odd mine are still there after closing and restarting steam.

 

Thanks, downloading now. Will these eventually replace the ones downloaded at steam games?

 

well the problem is they are not downloaded at all so they are not in the steamapps folder

 

What is the total size of the zips after compression? I remember that I had corrupted gcfs that were the proper size and all. Steam could still mount them with no complaints. They would 7zip down to ~5mb after 30 mins of max compression.

 

I thought posting the GCFs was not allowed..........

 

Probably not for games you should pay for. However everything in there you can get free from steam anyhow. Can't see it's a problem

 

I asked trickster first and he said to go ahead with offering them.

 

I don't 'remember exactly one file is over 300 mb the other over 200mb

 

I spoke to a few players who downloaded them and installed them and they said it worked fine.

and it worked for me as well.

 

When I get my crashed HD connected again I will pull the corrupted GCFs and 7zip them again so ppl can download 5mb instead of 500mb. They are corrupted but, as said... steam will mount them and the game will load fine.

 

Are they corrupted or are they the mini GCFs ? (empty with just file structure)
Those can be made easily.

 

They are corrupted since 3/4 of it is bad but, the remaining 1/4 are still extractable.

Just curious why just the steamapps folder and not the Empires folder?

 

Because that's where the old .gcfs files are stored.

The first file won't even download without errors. It downloads but it won't extract without an error because the archive is corrupt. The source 2007 shared models.gcf file is blank. Tried re-downloading five times in a row.
