Most other games have a form of defensive bunker, as where Empires has the Armory. However, the armory doesn't offer the proper protection versus most ballistic weapons, only various forms of cover do. So, how about commander droppable bunkers that have a considerable amount of HP, and resistances to most weapons, aside to obvious weapons (Ex. HIT missiles and HE cannons) This way when people decide to whore up a choke point they have a method of defending, aside to the regular wallspam clusterfuck. As well there are already previously made models for bunkers on emp_arid and emp_hazard_rc6. Why not just port these previously well modeled and textured map specific bunkers into Commander Building Menu, 90% of the work is already done.

how is he retarded? it's not a bad idea. the first one could be made into a building the comm can drop, it's kinda neat actually. the second one, meh, whatever. I kinda like this idea, who cares about old posts, this is about how these are already made and available (with permission im sure) the bunker from arid trimmed down so it's only the small covered area would be the size of an armory or smaller, I like it cause it could make cool bases, or be a bitch when placed on high ground near an enemy base. +1 also hamster wtf happened to you, youre no fuckign fun any more.
They may not be used particularly on those maps since they're map dependent placed. But if they were commander placed at choke-points, they would offer a premium amount of defensive power versus vehicles and rifleman.
Exactly, it does not have to be an impenetrable fortress of doom with ammo or HP. More or less a structure to enhance the staying power of infantry at or around chokepoint and/or stationary strategic position. It's just an idea to help out infantry come to par with tanks. There has been too many times I wish i had a bunker instead of a section(s) of walls and getting .50cal MG'd to death or HMG spammed to hell in the open. They could even be separate levels on the bunker, or open top. Doesn't matter to me, as long as we can even out infantry capability to vehicle capability.

bunkers would make gameplay static. defending infantry already have turrets and armories. if you make it so like 3 pixels of their head are exposed, it will be impossible for attacking infantry to move up. like for example, assautling middle if middle is heavily garrisoned in coast.
