Chat colors

    One simple thing: Maybe you can change the chat-colors of commander statements? The rule could be: If the com is in the com vehicle, his/her chat color changes to...

    Northern Faction: dark pink
    Brenodi Empire: dark purple

    So it would be easier to differ between "strategic" or "fighting" comments...

    Why do you say its light purple? It is a light blue, almost like a sky gray blue I guess.

    These (and other) colours can be changed in the clientscheme.res file, found in the /resource folder of your Empires install.

    Probably some completely different colors that arent used much for chat could be used, so that it literally alerts you.

    How about bright red? That's at least what most error outputs use.

    Not exactly sure what red you mean, but red is already NF.
    I would like some completely different color than the teams or the automated server messages.

    The current colors make it almost less noticable.

    How about purple (I mean strong colorful purple)? Or something in that way, that will simply pop up in your periphery.

    NF uses a desaturated red. What I'd use is pretty much #FF0000 in hex color code.

    (The NF red might not be accurate, but it's something like that.)

    is there a way to link color schems to map themes? camo usually is picked in a way that it fits the map's palette, so you could use this to have best contrast on most maps.

    but more saturated colors alone will certainly make it more readable aswell.

    I'm gonna have to check this out.

    If it's possible to outline the chat in a separate color, then that pretty much fixes everything. It's tough for TWO colors to both blend in with the background.

    cl_chatbackdrop 1 (atleast I think thats correct, if not then "find backdrop")
    That gives the chat a very transparent black backdrop, just by the way for those who dont know.
