Come on, does anyone use this skill in a serious game? Woo, I can punch people.

I was trying to think of ways to improve it and make it more attractive. Here's what I've got.

Change Skill title to something like "Superior Physical Conditioning" or some flavor text crap like that. "Advanced Biological Doo-Dads." Wahtever. the name is unimportant.

    right now, this skill
    -improves melee damage
-improves melee range (I think.... like i said, I rarely use the skill, if at all.)

I think that the skill should do more stuff, more general stuff, not just melee related, because lets face it, melee is rarely useful.

So I'm thinking that the skill should:
-improve melee damage (Unchanged from current Skill)
-improve melee range (unchanged from current skill)

AND IN ADDITION, do one or more of the following:
-reduce the time it takes to drop to prone and stand up from prone. This makes the skill more versatile in more situations, and makes it great for machine gunners.
-Reduce stamina loss that for jumping. Note that i don't want to increase jump distance b/c that would cause all sorts of mapping issues.
    -possibly increase speed while prone
-increase grenade throw distance. Idk about this one. You can huck those things pretty far, as is.
-reduce damage taken from melee attacks: a minor bump, because like I said, melee is rarely used anyway.

Building punch, building punch, building punch! "IMMA PUNCHING DOWN UR RAX, NF!"

(Yeah, I know it would be horribly broken for scouts... A "vehicle punch" that can slightly hurt tank armor would be even more hilarious and slightly less broken, although it could be used on stray APCs. Ok, I got nothin' serious.)

idk about that... it'd probably be really, really useless unless it did a comically high amount of damage. But see, that right there would at least be more motivation to take it.

I think it would be great to be able to punch down a radar or barracks. Just for the laughs.

Oh! Oh! The melee skill should allow you to 'punch' over vehicles (i.e. flip them). It would make tanks fear infantry even more.

On an unrelated note, has anyone charged a tank as an engineer with his seismic grenade out, just to scare the tank away?

I fail to see how anyone falls for that it is pretty obvious who is engineers.

Would be a joke if the melee upgrade lets knock over vehicles with a "Falcon Punch!" sound.

To be fair, give the buildings a pair of robot arms boxing gloves so it can punch back and it'll be a fair fight.

    ROUND ONE

    FIGHT

It'd be awesome if you could punch holes in buildings and walls! XD

So you'd be like *PUNCH* *lobs grenade in*

Or into the dimensional fabric, to create portals >:3

I'd say mix it in with either improved speed/stamina or a rapid reloading-type skill.

I love actually meleeing people, but the skill is usually so useless in comparison to the other things you can take.

I say combine it with improved stamina, then. The thing is, improved speed pretty much makes you run all the time, so improved stamina is useless... a general "improved strength", though, which combines damage and stamina so you can rush at people and thwack them, would be a bit less useless.

Still not that great, though. On most maps you don't get close enough to do even that.

I've done it as BE many, many times.

Even after hiding behind a turret xD

I would also like to see the melee-upgrade buffed.
I had already some melee kills, but never found the melee-upgrade useful as it actually does nothing except giving the ability to kill enemies with the health-upgrade with 2 punchs.
I would say that the melee-upgrade should do the following things:
    Increase the range.
Increase the area (I mean: if your enemy stands 45 degrees left from you, you will be able to hit him from there -> everything that is 45 degrees left or right from you will get hit)
Increasing the damage to 75 (yes, we already have that.)
Increase the speed of your melee-attacks.
Stun the enemy for 1 sec.

Well maybe melee can cause the enemy to be unable to fire for 1-2 seconds if you hit them from the back, but by then they are dead anyways...

If you melee someone in the back, it's unlikely they can turn and fire before they get the second smack

Unless they move away and the second one misses.

Firing your weapon breaks hide, melee does not. Also, the noise factor, even with weapon silencers.
