Can't get Empires to start up

So here's where I'm at:

1.Downloaded Empires.
2.Downloaded Sources SKD Base 2007

Now I try launching through Steam, and I get this:



So I read some threads, and moved my "Empires" folder to my "steam/steamapps/username" folder. Then when I try to launch using the Empires launcher, I get this:



WAT DO.

 

Why did you make a second account?

 

I've done as you suggested and I'm still receiving the same errors as listed above.

 

dont have this file either but mine works perfectly

verify cache/reinstall

 

I've done this for both Empires and SDK, neither had missing files and I still get the errors

 

I googled around a bit and found that most user were experiencing the problem on a Mac, are you using a Mac?
