Whenever I open a menu (Squad, Class, Vehicle, ect) and attempt to click on any point the menu closes instantly. I changing class takes several minutes of effort and joining a squad is impossible. I have no idea how or why this is happening, as it just started today and I've been playing with no issues since the latest release. I should probably mention that this has made the game almost entirely unplayable. I am attempting to see if it's something on my system causing the problem now.
This also is happening to me and is very annoying because I need those skills and a squad to do better on the servers I play. It's like that through the whole game except 1 out of a thousand it does work once. I tried restarting game and it still does it.
I found a way to get it to work, but it is kinda of annoying but atleast it works. I just type "choosesquad" in console and it opens the menu and then I press escape to close console and the squad menu is still there. When you click on something it won't disappear and everything works. Now I do the same with "chooseclass" to change class and get my skills. Also I use "chooseteam". I tried doing "bind b "chooseclass"" and test it but that doesn't work, you need to have console open while the command is entered. I hope this helps for now until it gets fixed. =)
it happens to me sometimes too. either make sure you only have 1 window open (only the BOTTOM window responds, which i think should be fixed), or hold the click for a second or two.
Well, it stopped happening once I fully restarted my computer. Not sure what was interacting with it, but restarting the game alone did not fix it. Not sure if that helps anyone else, though.
It's happened to me twice too. Both times it was the middle of a round, not in a barracks, with no other windows open. Once it simply 'went away' after I kept trying again and again to open the skills menu and click on the class. The other time I said 'f**k it I'm going to bed' :D
Hmmm good point. I think it was generally ok but there were big-ass lag spikes. I'm pretty sure it wasn't laggy when I was having the problem though
It wasn't lagging at all when it started happening to me. I took Snark's advice of completely restarting my computer and it fixed it. =)
ok there is a fool proof way to make sure it works everytime and it involves the order you use the menus first you must select a class any class and then the spawn point and the vote for commm and the join a squad and then choose you upgrade and playclass
Can we get this patched, it's absolutely ruined my empires. No skills. No squads. Dammit, this needs a fix! I've tried: Restarting Empires Restarting Computer Restarting Steam Closing all Windows Mashing buttons Reinstalling Empires Swearing Closing all background programs Come on, how can this STILL be screwed. This is NOT caused by lag, it happens to me on my own listen server! EDIT: Don't say this is a bump, you'd bitch at me for not searching if I made my own thread.
