yes, exactly what i was thinking but i dont know about the overheat "time" i guess hmg reload time would be somewhat perfect i guess
Just had an idea, what if overheat was the ONLY reload-like thing? What if it holds all it's ammo in that hugeass box on top?
hello, mass effect! And HMG reload time is way too high. imo it should be like tanks: overheated - fried for a sec, dissipates some heat, can fire again.
In IRC we talked about using fluid metal, that hardens under the pressure when it accelerates in the barrel.
Dude, I like it. But hey, I build coilguns in my spare time. What if, instead of overheating, the capacitors drained with each shot, net result being that damage and range would taper off the more your fire. The weapon would need to recharge quickly, about 2.5 seconds from empty to full charge. This would be more of a precision weapon than a shotgun, though.
The general theme is much better, however the handle on the front is a bit silly, and the whole thing looks like a much heavier weapon than a shotgun. The handle would be good and the gun would make sense at that size if it was held like a minigun or something, like it was some super heavy cannon, it'd probably make a good man-portable plasma cannon or something, but it's just a little bit big for a shotgun and a little front heavy too.
why not just make the gun into more like the XM307 not the model that is but how it plays in the game errm BE already has an mg, it doesn't need another and adjusting rate of fire seems pointless since tapping the fire key is fine for now keep the initial design it looks suitably big and nasty ( the curved look looks fuggly). but make it like a infantry portable HE MG would work better than a gause BB gun. it would provide something more unique to BE (mortar replacement?)
