NOTE: this refers to anything with Bio in the name!!! No, really: it is. Think about it: a weapon that already does decent damage that can also eat away at infantry, vehicles, buildings, etc. and it's also easily accessed! Seriously...I personally think that it should do as much damage as a 9mm handgun in initial damage and very little damage from then until it wears off 10-20 seconds later.
It's very annoying, but not very powerful. Almost all the other weapons can do more damage per second, bio just does excellent damager per shot assuming you don't shoot very often. Bio's first shot is the most powerful in the game (I think) but all subsequent shots are pretty crap. However as a force multiplier, in MG form, it is very useful when combined with another weapon set, one or two bio MGs mixed in with your main battle tanks can greatly enhance your damage potential. It's kinda like disease in guild wars. As a method of direct attack it's pretty weak, but one necromancer in a party spreading it to everyone he sees can make a fight much easier because it gets more powerful the more enemies you're fighting. And you can just tell that I love being the typhoid mary of the group.
Oh yeah? I've been killed a fair amount of times by bio damage (not initial damage, but the stuff that remains afterward) because my enemy had bio MGs all around until I killed him...and then he killed me while he was dead. Well, okay, he didn't specifically kill me, but he made me loose my tank.
Bio is the only weapon that's specifically counters engineer tank pilots. It does just enough damage to sap their battery, but not so much that it kills the tank. Though, killing the tank is obviously preferable if you can manage it.
Bio is pretty terrible, it's usable on infantry but it's not as effective as HE unless the little bastards flee.
So... A weapon is overpowered because it makes you lose your tanks but it does some damage afterwards?
Yes, and you killed him before the bio kicked in. Therefore it is not a good weapon, it can at best destroy both tanks, at worst, only yours.
I remember in one version when Dual Bio ML Heavies were more dangerous than Dual UML. Sadly those days have pasted, and you need to stop smoking that reefer.
its actually fun to put a railgun, a salvo and a bio on a heavy with fission engine and a few plates of composite armor, when your doing base raids on money, but dual salvo is much more effective.
The bio DoT does not damage buildings. BioMG's bullet does damage tanks and buildings*. *Not actually tested, but DU damages buildings and BioMG is functionally identical to DU (albeit with the bio DoT), so there's no good reason for them to behave any different.
The initial shot damages buildings but it has no DoT on them. Nether the less I really think bio MG is the best of them all, the damage seems consistent with the others and it rapes bio armor/gives extra damage when they try to flee
