Actually with armor piercing rounds it does, they're designed to go straight through armor, if they fragment in flesh then you're doing it wrong.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyKMz3tYx-M#t=1m25s 9mm AP. (non incendiary... iow it wont trigger off the incindiary function after hitting ur body armor plate) its not the bullet itself which extends the wound, its the vacuum of the 3cm wide bullet which mess you up, the faster it passes the more vacum.... and 30mm against flesh is like a bullet through air... it barely notice ur there. it cant possibly get 30cm like trix said it may, but it sure as hell wont be 3cm.
It might not kill you, but I doubt with an inch hole clean through you, you will be able to do much other and scream.
Any progress on the model, megel? It has been three months, surely this should have a low poly version (which is actually usable ingame) that is rigged and ready for implementation?
You guys really should leave the whole bullet thing behind. *any* bullet at 30mm will pretty much tear you a new one... even if it misses, the force of the bullet passing your head could knock you out.
What pickled said. Has anyone in this discussion ever been shot at? I haven't, I doubt anyone else here has. All we're doing is regurgitating things we saw in films or read on the internet. None of you are John Rambo; all the e-waving is making you look smaller, not bigger :p Also, what omni said - any progress with shiny new things?
Here we are talking about bullet sizes and what they can do , yet in Empires you can survive many Anti Tank rounds and still bunny hop
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MlA1qqNoJE#t=2m18s id say those guys dropped fairly quick from the 30mm mg... or actually... does the avenger fall under auto cannon or machinegun?
I hope that this is added to the NF arsenal without having it replace another tank. It seems like the only obstacle to adding new content to this game is modeling (well there's animation and stuff too), and when a new model like this comes out it should be added quickly, without removing other content from the game (which seems kind of silly to me).
Yeah, but that argument doesn't really work when the content that is being replaced looks like shit and is bad for gameplay.
this is the first time i logged onto this forum for about one year and this is the first thing i see .... AWESOME =D
I seem to see a lot of misconceptions about ammunition sizes and the results of said size on the human body. Let me clear some things up. DO ANY OF YOU REALIZE HOW BIG 30 MM IS? DO YOU? Caliber = inches. So, a .50 cal. = 1/2 inch. 1/2 inch = 12.7 mm. 30 MM = ~1.2 inches. If that hits you, you die. It doesnt matter where it hits you, you die. The over pressure from the bullet passing by is probably enough to kill some people. If that thing hits you in the chest... you would literally gib. Like in TF2.
