Nobody will answer positive but what the hell. Does anybody know of/have this game? I want to compare stats
To the game description, gameplay vids, or torrent? I can supply proper gameplay if I get to install Fraps on my laptop. The vids I've seen on youtube are shit.
CAUTION, POSSIBLE SPOILERS, DON'T READ IF YOU INTEND TO FIND EVERYTHING OUT YOURSELF! The mission branching is pretty much 2 difficulty settings, one for nubs and one for pros. Real branching happens twice - once where you get 4 different missions (split into 2-2) and once for easy or pro with rather hard bossfight at the end. So I wouldn't call it branching really. Splitscreen is great for home parties when we need some action (but I have to sit out because I'm OP ). It could do with a proper multiplayer and would benefit greatly from online or even LAN play. This sums up that infidel's comments. The only other issues are rather old graphics (game was released on PS2 and Xbox in 2002, ported to PC in 2003) and - according to al those no-skill noobs on YT - pretty high difficulty. I disagree with them as I find the whole game easy to complete with just a hint of working brain tissue. Time for my description then... The whole thing takes place on a world that survived global warming as a handful of islands and two factions fighting for the critical landmasses - Muspell, the black and red bad guys, and Forseti, the white and blue good guys. As you might have guessed, Forseti is losing, so the eggheads came up with...*apply "DUN DUN DUNNN"* Aquila, a superb battle walker with deadly top-notch weaponry (10 different weapons), mobility (can walk or fly) and maneuverability (really agile, turns literally on the spot, can dodge enemy fire). Only they had no pilots, so they arrested Hawk Winter (you, main character), a top illegal street-racer and gave him a choice between punishment and serving in the army as a pilot for Aquila. Then the game starts. You are the main offensive, defensive, support, ground and air unit of the army (pro "branch") or a very important asset for Forseti troops (nub "branch"). Either way you need to shoot, fly, walk, whatever through thousands of infantry, tanks, (fail)walkers, fighters, bombers and a few bosses. The game focuses on dynamic action-packed (sadly mostly singleplayer) play. You won't find any "defend for X minutes" or long escort missions. Instead, expect tricky and challenging battles against highly superior number-wise (and, in 1 or 2 cases, technologically) forces with varying objectives and conditions. Additionaly, the player is marked for each mission depending on how well they did - got all objectives done? were you fast enough? did you kill half our army in the process? The controls are fully customizable (you can even set lonking around to keys of your preference) and easy to learn, even if mastering them takes a while. Aquila has four pre-set loadouts with which you can wreak havoc among enemies. Mastering those is much more challenging (I myself can only use 2 well - then again, I'm not an absolute pro as Zeke pointed out). The game also features heaps of unlockable goodies like sketches or technical info on units and characters. They are unlocked by scoring well in singleplayer missions. There's also a race minigame hidden as a goodie - we can compare times if anyone tries that. Multiplayer is just splitscreen on 1 computer for 2 players with 3 different modes: co-op, skirmish and versus. Co-op is 3(+ pro version for each) maps with lots of enemies to defeat. There are limited lives, if one player loses all his it's a gg. Skirmish is 6 maps(not sure on layout, haven't played all of them) with pvp + forces for both sides action. Game ends once the main units/structures for one side are destroyed. Versus is 3 maps for pvp with limited lives and no backup forces, only neutral ones that attack each player. Game ends when one player runs out of lives. For co-op players use 2 Aquilas with standard (blue-white) colors, for pvp one is standard and one has Muspell layout (black-red). The game supports several languages - English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. The developer studio no longer exists and I doubt you can find a new copy in the stores. It wasn't even published in Poland, I got mine as an addition to a graphics card.
*depleted character limit* I think I covered everything, if something is missing do tell and I'll elaborate on it. To those who skipped wall of text: fuck you I spent I've an hour typing that via my phone.
