This issue has tons to do with how old someone is. Obviously.

You know, behavior sadly doesn't correspond to age sometimes. And not about you.

I'm almost 100% sure it's being mentioned on the forums at least once in the past but as Security suggested, the "SB" acronym might have being used instead of "SourceBans" when it was being discussed. I tried using Google instead to search for them and it does seem that it was discussed in the past. In any case, I had wrongly assumed it was easily searchable so I apologise for the misunderstanding.

Then dont use "grow up". It's so annoying to see people online say shit like, "kid" or "grow up" to enforce an argument. Makes no sense at all.

i assumed that the reasoning was that nobody could be bothered to set it up because "all the bans are short" and "everyone can contact the admins" etc etc
security's favorite line to use is "if this thing that i chose just now is met then this discussion is over" because cant win arguments without a crutch
oh hell yeah can i apply for first appellate court
yeah it seems like it was mentioned once and it didnt go into detail like this topic did. its all good now

If you think Creeper is protecting abusive admins then what's to discuss?
In fact that's probably one of the most malicious thoughts I can come up with and will alter my impression of you completely.

Glad to know that this wasn't in your mind.

Seriously security you need to quit this shit where the first sentence of every argument you make is this super over the top out of the context statement that everyone agrees with.

Its like theres a debate over homosexuality going on, and I say, Im not fond of homosexuality.

Then you come barging in the door and go

If you think Homosexuals are evil reincarnate then fuck off theres nothing to discuss.

You lead other people on to think people made that statement to prove you are right for some reason.
Well NO. STOP DOING THAT SHIT.

Noone said creeper is protecting abusive admins.
Neko and lamer were the only one to say it might be for malicious reasons. They didnt say it was to protect abusive admins. So quit your fucking shit security.

"""because of a malicious admin who knew they could get away with it because they knew there would be no logs associated with it?"""

I also found some posts in the shoutbox archive that went into more detail than what's here in this thread. In any case, I'm glad it's all good now.

    Ouch....
Dont base likes completely to agreement xD

I dont exactly think there is any malicious intent.
Not saying its not possible, but no reason to think so.

Cant believe how you actually used a like to help your cause xD
But I shall take greater care with liking posts, which have tiny disagreement to me xD

also...Iam not actually very familiar with the recent hostility of some people towards admins..
Meaning I dont know where it started or didnt really follow it.

Its still their server and they fully own the rights to do what the heck ever they want.

For example, I can only agree, that something like a ban list should be done on a public server.
    A suggestion, not a demand.

EDIT: anyways, there should be a way to fix the sourcebans issue...or maybe some other banlist plugin? hmm
I mean sourcebans is still being developed, or not? Didnt they fix the issue?
Or is there just some older version specific to empires?
    Amxbans?
There should be many other plugins.
But if you really dont want, then nvm.

Just think, things like that can just make some things easier for you and even for the people.

why would creeper randomly add and remove admins and why would he care about logs if he did

i wasnt refering to creeper when i said malicious admin. people say there are bad admins. i was asking if it couldve been one of them or if it was someone entirely separate (see: a ridiculous amount of people had admin on viper/nubs and people who hadn't played in months/years would play and notice they still had admin)

I know the owner is the creeper, but maliciously and saying creeper is covering for abusive admins is not the same. Its completely out of context and making it what ever you want

    Security his post
"If you think Creeper is protecting abusive admins then what's to discuss?"

thats not the same quote as security's post, vicki
and i said exactly what i feel a malicious reason is a couple of posts above, if you had read

and that post was also before people explained what the issue was with sourcebans

and even if it was before explaining sb wtf does anyone come off saying that its moronic, no one puts so much time and money into running a server just to screw players over. the mind that thinks that is not working properly.

    Was sourcebans++ considered?
    Developed community version.

latest dev version 1.5.5-dev dated 20.12.2016

But then also, I was reading that a new 2 devs are taking over and intend to rewrite the code from scratch.

I mean, most of the rcon issues and exploits you can find about the outdated non-community version of sourcebans 1.4.x
Even found some SQL injectors available, but only for those old versions.

Most RCON exploits issues I found, tend to date back to 2014 and before. (mostly 2011)

    Just maybe something to consider.
    If you want, though. :D
