And by 'statistic review', I mean 'NERF'.Seriously, they're OP and overused on emp_money. A few matches ago, I was on NF ( ). BE had blockaded both bridges, and neither team could penetrate the NF side bridge entrances, as they were walled off and defended all too well (or so it seemed). Near said entrances, there were ML and MG turrets, as well as a few armories and many extra anti-BE walls. I was reloading inside one of the armories, defending as well as I could, when arty shots started pummeling the NF side, starting with the armories and working their way to the VF, and eventually the rax. NF would have stood a fighting chance if BE hadn't had its hands on artillery tanks. Seriously, these tanks are just underhanded and nearly unstoppable when you don't have them.
Quite. And besides, you were already losing. If NF doesn't win with a light tank rush, they don't win. (With exceptions for when BE is an exceptional failure team.)
thats why we have no arty agreements on money arty fit nicely with other maps, but they have a habit of pissing the other team off since they can't fight back
trust me, the game needs arty, only pros who can actually can find the artillery detection skill are allowed to use it, which means a bunchload of the community. ANYWAYS, money is a fail map, a huge tug of war until one team gets HIT or artillery. Play canyon, artillery is only useful when the enemy starts turtling, or duststorm where they are open and vulnerable, NOT MONEY WHERE THEY ARE WELL HIDDEN BY A GENTLE SLOPE AND GAURDED WITH STANDING THINGS THAT BLOCK SHOTS. YOU LOSE, GOOD DAY SIR.
District402 and Money are 2 maps that should never be used to judge the mod, as neither is what empires was made to be played as most of the time.
If you didn't have arty on money, then the map would last for 2 hours every time. In fact, there is a map like that called emp_canals.
ewwww my god I played on canals and it is impossible because the person who did it forgot to do VVIS or didn't use areaportals/hint brushes.
it at least is a commander map. i like SoF (just not as commander, but you get used to it too) how is that relevant for being a good/shit map?
Well, whatever the case, Artillery is ridiculously OP, because there's no way to protect against it, and no way to fight back unless you have your own OR you have some sort of ubertanks and can fight your way there.
Depends on the way you look at it, artillery tanks mostly only have 6 plates of armor(2 on front and sides) NOT on the back, unless someone was using composite. That basically means that these defenseless tanks with a defenseless side are quite vulnerable.
