How about a vehicle that could recover destroyed tanks? Perhaps that had the ability to tow a dead tank out of the line of fire, and then repair it? It would look like a medium tank with the turret removed and a crane on the back, and would be able to carry a machinegun and smoke grenades for local defence. Logically it would be able to repair damaged as well as destroyed vehicles. It doesn't seem sensible to limit its use to engineers, even though it would be an engineering vehicle. I realise that this is similar to the "auxiliary mediums" post, but this particular auxiliary vehicle didn't come up there, or anywhere else that I found when I searched, so I thought I'd put it in a separate thread. I'll move it to be a post on a more appropriate thread if anyone prefers?
why not just let the command vehicle do this? (bonus for losing team that matters, a recycled heavy can be used to build another and no need for extra modeling i do not believe in my honest opinion that this idea will be high on the list of priorities when a new model needs to be made
I like this, ressurecting dead tanks with full hull, but with the same armor they died with. Obviously only YOUR tanks. And superfast repairs to vehicles, about 4x normal engineer speed.
It is a nice idea, and I agreee there should be an engineering vehicle in there :/ sad it isnt there out yet

hate to break it to you but Warzone 2100 did have infantry. They where just called cyborgs lol. But idea of rezing dead tanks is intriguing. Maybe a engi squad or com power?
yes, it did have infantry you could just ignore them entirely because they sucked AND you started with tanks
I think it would be more interesting to allow the Armoured Engineer Vehicle to recover resources from a destroyed vehicle rather than restore it.For intance, the wreck of a 500 res tank could hold around 250 res for the AEV to salvage,a 700 res tank could hold 350 res and so on. Of course the AEV would be expensive and lightly armed - an easy target for any approaching hostiles.
