these are very high renders(thanks to cinema 4d being annoying), the model is a low polie model. what do you guys like and hate about it. it is for NF (obviously). what do you guys think of it?

ps im not a pro at modelling

Propellers look kind of funny, since the rear one would destabilize the aircraft.

Maybe go with one central rotor?

Someone from the dev team created some concept art you could use as a guide.

central rotor, that sounds like a good idea, what about a central rotor and a smallrotor on the back tilted on its side, could that work?

The rear rotor should be vertical, unless the flight dynamics of helicopters changed this week ;)

They remind me of Leonardo da Vinci's studies.
For actual combat units they seem almost too fragile.
And I think the wings (or struts or whatever that's supposed to be) are too angular. They should probably be trapezoidal.
I don't think the third rotor has to go necessarily. However
    a) keep in mind that the summed up torque from all three rotors has to be zero, so you can't have an odd number of rotors of equal size. Removing one rotor is probably the easiest, alternatively you could scale the rotors (Two small ones going in one direction, one big rotor that goes in the other)
    b) The center of gravity of the plane has to be in the middle between the rotors. Right now it looks like it's between the two middle rotors, making the third one obsolete (see a).

the rear rotor could push down, as to balance the aircraft in a way, and allow for extreme maneuverability

I like the way you think.

This would probably allow the aircraft to fly Tiger style

Would this be the gunship? We already have several NF planes modeled by the talented Don Megul
You'd best work on the BE planes because afaik I've only seen the transport and that's older than 1.0

The second one is a transport right? It looks freakin HUGE. Also, is that a tail gun? ^^

Somebody make some concepts for the BF aircraft and I'll model them.

The first one is the Fighter.
The second one I think is either the Bomber or the Ground Attack (Gunship. Whatever), and to me those look more like exhaust pipes than guns. As for the dropship, very old concept drawing can be found in the wiki.

There are no concepts for the BE Bomber and Gunship, only the age-old Dropship and those pictures of the fighter that keep popping up once in a while

As long as the empires aircraft controlls are similar to battlefields, I will have no problem piloting... its always been the funnest vehicle to whore since 1942, onto vietnam, and bf2, they completely fucked the 2142 aircraft up though.. if you want heli's, have this JET HELI LOLOLOL IT OWNZ... the stupidest thing ever.

I can't tell you for sure since it's not really developed yet, but past comments from Krenzo indicate he wanted it to be a more realistic system like in FlightSims (he used Falcon 4 for reference), e.g. you get a throttle lever instead of just "press W or leave it". But that's years ago.

well you could do air craft controlls where w is faster s is slower and a d lean the aircraft. then you just have the aircraft follow the x hairs so you wanna go up move the x hairs up you wanna go down move them down. since a plane can only shoot where its pointing ( with guns anyway homing missles and such dont count)

granted i expirienced this controll system in a 3rd person flying mmo thing. so not really sure how it would work in first person. the game had a first person option but it didnt have a cocpit view so it was dumb and i never used it...

but anyway back on to the first topic at hand.

i like the rotor spinny thing propulsion system that nf has. its smexy
