Alien Swarm XP/promotion

So you accidentaly clicked promote and lost all your levels...
You want them back?

Well, I found a way to do so.
I can't publish the code as I'm still under NDA and that used the good old SW SDK, but well, I found a way to set XP and promotion levels.

If there's interest, I may finish the program and publish it.

Hey it's a proof of concept, also AS devs forgot to change the ICE key in the source code before releasing it so it's their fault.

If you take away promotions how will we know who's actually decent at the game?

I've earned my gallium cross legitimately and I quite like it.

 

It's just grinding...

 

Grinding XP is doing it wrong, I earned my 3 ranks by playing through the game with speedruns and higher difficulties, besides that, anyone who's grinded through nearly 90 levels is sure to actually be good at some of the maps.

 

people gotta get real, it isn't the best game in the world, it actually beat CSS and is close to beating MW2, which used to be impossible

true, alienswarm gets boring pretty fast after u have reached max lvl and unlocked all weapons.
it needs more good maps and other content to be successful in the long term, but i doubt valve will provide that much support for a free game ..
