I fail a lot, so sometimes I forget to change the barracks I want to spawn in. When I spawn I find myself 5 miles from the front line, so I have to kill spawn and waste a ticket that could be used later on. A way to fix this is a new research option, Advanced Personnel Transportation! It would be under Mechanical Engineering next to Advanced Personnel Deployment. The way it would work is that you go into a barracks, hit enter, pick a new spawn and then wait 3-5 seconds and you will be placed in the barracks you selected. This happens to me a lot to, I'm for it, but I suggest getting it after you get APCs, like lvl2 and 3 turrets very useful when theres low tickets hey.. slice, you aren't form sass, are you?
Maybe have a display inside of the barracks, like the vf has, which will allow you to open up the spawn map, this would help with the logistics of it. I like the idea, there have been some discussions on this before, I don't remember the conclusion drawn from them but AFAIK it will add to strategy and just make everyones game more enjoyable. Make sure to compile some pros and cons and add it to the sticky, that way your suggestion won't be lost in the puddle of suggestion mud.
A TRANSPORTATION CHAMBER inside the barracks. A guy gets in, door closes, guy spawns in another barracks transp. chamber. That would make sure that only one guy at a time can switch.
Transporters have been suggested before but not like this. This would be an interesting and useful additon. Would lesson the "kill spawn" likeable (well a bit) THIS GETS:
totally agree. exactly. don't bring up the word "teliport" though, or people will have a field day. I don't see why, without research or anything, you shouldn't be able to fade out at one barracks and then fade in in another. you're NOT playing the same guy. it's as if you sent one guy home to his mum in Glycen City, and spawn as a totally new guy at the other place. there would be a 15 second fade out, and then you would be able to spawn like normal
you mean other than hiding enemy engies and spies in? I was going to suggest that this be done at the radar, but inside the rax does sound better.
it would have to spawn you with no spawn protection (2 raxes right next to each other, keep warping from one to the other) but other than that its all good.
Very nice idea. Longer than 3 seconds though, more like the length it takes to respawn, plus 3 seconds penality time.
no make it instant, but you can't use it if there are enemies within [short distance] of the barracks you're teleporting from also, trying to use it while the barracks is sabotaged kills you, and credits the scout that sabotaged the barracks with his point for killing you
