3 Nukes per clip instead of 6

    Especially because we get the reload funcion in 2.41, those nuke clips should be smaller.

    We would have 3 nukes per clip and 4 clips in total instead of 6 nukes per clip and 2 clips in total.

    Edit: The reload time between the clips has to be lowered a bit then, of course.

    Pros:

    - Prevent droping of 6 nukes (50% of max ammo!) if accidentally hitting the "R" key
    - Makes managing of ammo more comfortable and economic

    Cons:

    - Devs will be butthurt about 5 seconds of coding effort

    isn't that huge ass reload time that it takes to reload a clip a giant nerf in option #1 ?

    option #2 is the AS IS state, that requires supportive armouries or engies redropping ammo boxes nearby. If those engies happen to be drivers of said nuke heavies -> cake.

    I voted 3 per clip with 4 clips. The reasoning behind this suggestion is good and trickster should be able to easily modify this in the scripts.

    Personally I think I would rather see the middle road of 4 nukes per clip with 3 clips rather than the 2 options above

    I'd assume that the reload time per nuke would stay in proportion, correct?

    I don't care whether 3 nukes with 4 clips or 4 nukes with 3 clips...

    ... I'm just sitting here waiting for Trickster.

    Wasn't this exactly the idea that trickster put forth when I suggested making nukes clipless (like cannons)? Somebody check the thread I made, I'm on a phone.

    Might be, but I wanted to make a new thread about that because it hasn't been changed in 2.41 and this is a serious problem.

    ... Now I feel kinda bad for stealing ideas. I'll go to jail :cry:

    I personally hate nukes, I think quality of the game can be improved when you don't have a weapon with that much devastating potential. I think they should cost more than having the ammo re-worked.

    So if people are going to use a weapon that instant gibs anything that isn't covered in armor, sacrificing of a few extra sheets of armor should be a decent compromise.

    I did actually consider this myself. If I remember, I'll do it. I also plan on adding a minute or 2 to the nuke research time.

    how about:

    1. leave research time as is
    2. 4 nukes per clip
    3. 3 clips total
    4. raise the weapon price to 2400 res
    5. add fancy particles
    6. have nukes block all other missile slots (somehow)

    Oh, yeah, #6 applied mostly for NF :headshot:

    My basic though was, just as you wrote, make it cost a hurtful amount of money. So only winning commanders will choose it in order to end a turtled game. Raising the price makes tanks with nukes more comparable to arty, gameplay-wise. Also the likeliness to get a nuke tank out of a vf, when your teams resources are low, tends towards zero, just like with arty tanks. Some jerks will always squeeze out some APCs or Mediums before you have the money for your AAA+ Vehicle.
