K, most of the bugs that prevented a proper test last time are fixed, so we should have a half decent chance to test this time. I think we could get some sort of game going, hopefully if enough people attend we could do an 11v11 or something, so tell your friends to get their SVN hooked up for this.

More details will be posted up before the test.

Just play. We need testing of actual gameplay.

Crash Issue - Can't repro, but every crash was "caused" by some user input, i.e. not spontaneous. I sat idle for many minutes chatting with people outside the game without any crashing.

    Crash Circumstances:

In BE CV, trying to drop a building, the "Casualty blah blah" sound just barely starts to play and then crawsh.
Multiple times while building various buildings (2x be rax, 1x nf ref)

On team chat and radio messages it doesn't display your coordinates (a4, c2, that stuff)

    • Pressing the crouch key whilst prone causes you teleport to the middle of the map.
    • Can't unprone by pressing the jump key.
    • Crash split second after a player suicided in front of map whilst standing under an NF jeep that was trapped on top a ml turret whilst turret was firing.
    • Crash when being killed by BEHR and throwing a sticky stun at the same time.
    • Crash at the exact moment when seeing someone get killed by NF shotty pistol.
    • Crash when ramming the side of a BE barracks with the NF jeep.
    • Crash when seeing empty NF jeep get destroyed by ML turrets.
    • Game does not seem to be making crash dumps all the time. (There is only 2 dump files but I crashed a lot more than that)

As there are no crash dumps the best I can do is show the windows event log data for the crashes
Wait nvm I found the crash dumps in steam\dump: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2000188/Playtest%20%232%20Dumps%20-%20CyberKiller.7z
Event view app crash data left here anyway:

To summarise the crashing seems to be physics related and there is no 100% reproducibility steps known at the moment.
Perhaps testing with phys_pushscale increased would make it crash easier.

I didn't have this issue, it only doesn't work when I am outside of the map's grid.

There seems to be two ways the program crashes, the first way is the usual "hl2.exe has stopped working" dialogue with buttons for closing the program and debugging it, and the second way it crashes it goes straight to desktop with no dialogue. I don't know if it means much, but I only had 6 dumps and I think I only crashed the first way with the dialogue 6 times, so if you crash the other way it doesn't generate a dump.

I hate to say this...but I think it's frickin' awesome that people came to test, even if it's just 10-20 minutes of crashing.

It wasn't that long ago where people wouldn't even bother showing up, let alone reproduce bugs.

    CONST
    KEYWORD

    Fixed.

But I can't commit it to SVN yet, because Empires hates me with a particular passion,

Reminding myself that the crouch-prone problem only happens in release builds of the .dlls, not in debug builds, and that it's only a problem if you're not holding crouch when prone is done. As long as crouch is being pressed when the unprone animation finishes, no problem happens.

Although if I want to go from prone to crouch (or even most times when getting up) I will always hit control instead of hunting for z

Why can't you commit to the svn? Is it because the jenkins server isn't running?
I don't know why the jenkins server isn't running or isn't that being used atm?
It would be better to set the service start up to manual for now to stop it running every time the server gets rebooted if that's the case.

    Prone bug fixed now :D

Also, my permissions to SVN are fucked for some reason.
