APCs are godlike fast with 3 phase and other fast engines. APCs are very strong with large amounts of MG spam and people spawning. APCs are very cheap. What is being done to the APCs, or will everything stay as is? What does everyone think of APCs?
APCs should start with spawns but be around the same speed as tanks and only have like 5 seats and a limited number of spawns/second. Their job should be providing infantry support to tanks and the frontlines not be able to run past everything with their uber speed then just circle around an enemy base with their medium tank like armor.
I completely agree they are very over powered when used right(most of the time). Limit spawns per second sounds like a big solution and lower the armour a bit. They just circle bases, get hit my two rpg's, heal and continue. All the while the whole other team keeps spawning constantly on it.
hey drifting around turns and landing in places unexpected is fun as hell. But yeah gotta admit they are pretty powerfull. I like the idea of spawns per second on it and spawning not having to be researched. Had a 3phase APC outrun my 3phase jeep several times, kinda sad. ANd they have NO problems climbing hills with 3phase or bio-diesel compared to jeeps. I like the not being able to have 3 std cannons on it. But overall APC's, a little overpowered yes. but kinda turns the battle. Last Minute Thought: 4-5 seats total instead of 8?
Yes after some discussion I lowered (-5) the maxspeeds for 3phase and fission apcs. This change will put them in line with the other engines. (Standard + 5 = coolant +5 = diesel, etc.) Up until now fission and 3phase had a + 10 speed difference for no reason I can understand. Let's not nerf it into oblivion and wait for playtests instead. (APC health stays at 80 atm) Note: This change has been committed on Feb 9th.
They could do with slowing down, and perhaps reducing the armor they can carry, or buffing the light tank weapons, because unless things have changed significantly since 2.22, with the right research they completely and utterly outclass light tanks, and have usefulness which far exceeds any tank. Light tanks should be faster than APCs and should also pack more firepower than them, otherwise there's no point of light tanks. Possibly give light tanks a better single slot cannon to outclass HE and DU.
Well about light tanks, the standard cannon will get -4 heat in the next version afaik. So uh, more cannon spam = more deader apc hopefully?
TBH I think the spawn thing isn't really a nerf but just a change. You don't have to research it which is nice but it limits it from being too powerful in late game.
thats what we were leaving out, make the gren a reasonable counter to an armoured 'PC' and we have the RIGHT solution.
Are APC's really that big of a problem? Rushing an APC behind enemy lines is a great way to break a stalemated match. I don't see that as OP since it requires quite a bit of luck to pull off correctly. Having researchable spawns prevents early rushing pretty well. I haven't seen an early rush since 2.12.
Chainguns kill infantry 2 times faster than in 2.1. As grenadier its alot harter to kill apc and medium tanks now. 50cal is useless again cause you have access to a infantry rape mg without research.
