There's a ticker on the first page of the community tab that updates you on peoples purchases, new friends and achievements.
achievements are gay, when I accidentally get them on xbox I feel more nerdier. It's like you get a pimple or thicker glasses for each achievement
It's to show that you've done something, but are too pussy to do it again, so you're like "I already did it, don't need to reshow, I also get points that are completely useless".
haha when I got my 360 I thought getting achievements gave you xbox points to buy arcade games and shit because they use the same symbol for xbox points as they do for xbox achievement points. That would be a good way to get people to want to do that shit, but no those rich bastards are greedy as fuck.
Yeah you have to pay for the game, console, xbox live, and your own internet connection, with a wireless router. Really achievements should be there to start someone off, like construct/repair a total of 1000[0][0] points, not get 3 headshots with 1 bullet.
$20 says that one achievement is a once-in-a-month thing, and the rest can be gained in one hour of gameplay. "Get ten headshots in one life with scout rifle" "Sab a building" "Get ten kills in one life" "Run an enemy over with a tank"
There's a reason only 8 made it into the first batch of achievements, we chose the best of the best. None of this crap. All of the achievements are non-harmful to gameplay, fun and interesting. There is no grinding achievements nor are there any that will cause unusual behaviour (except one, but even then it doesn't promote negative gameplay, just different gameplay) They're not going to ruin empires as we know it and if you don't want to get them, you don't have to try. (Most of them should happen to everyone eventually anyway). Christ you lot will bitch about anything
