You know with all the bugs you guys already know about that I'm reporting I think I've already wasted at least 10 hours doing useless work because you won't give me access to the bug tracker, just saying.
That's why I don't bother with reporting bugs. People who do not have a list of bugs that are public are not worth clocking in hours for.
Maybe if you didn't shit all over everything in the game, shit all over the dev's work, and just plain shit all over the devs as people. Hell nevermind the fact that you'd probably fill the big tracker with asinine bugs that don't affect the game instead of reporting on other more important things. Like fuck sakes X the amount of low level stuff you make a big issue is just getting stupid.
A bug is still a bug wired. Not being able to shoot the driver in jeeps when you used to be able to has buffed jeeps to make them easier to chase vehicles for stuns. Makes it so much easier to get road kills into infantry blobs if they dont have a gren. A bug list that the public can see makes it easier on everyone to pool information and getting things done. If he is reporting bugs the devs know about, then hes wasting time he could be doing to find bugs they don't know about. Transparency on what has been reported and what has not is very reasonable. This is more of a personal attack on his character than being productive in defense of the bug. Mr. X is a dick and a nazi though.
I think we established that the player hitbox doesn't get rotated along with the visual representation of it, which means you have to shoot a specific point (that doesn't have to align with what you see) in order to hit. This is particularly visible in Jeeps because a larger portion of the player is covered by the vehicle's model.
It might be that the player hitbox is (sometimes) fully inside the model. Don't quote me on that though, I don't have the screenshot showing off the problem anywhere around so I might be misremembering.
There is a console command to see the hitbox. I don't know if it works when you're inside jeeps, but if it does, it will solve the Curious Case of Beep Jeep.
https://m.imgur.com/a/51CI2 This is an old screenshot. The problem is somehow related to parenting the player to the vehicle, I've looked into it a little bit in the past but couldn't fix it. It's most likely related to the changes made to vehicles a few patches ago.
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Hitbox It says the command has been removed, and I can't find any other ways.
