Server package is the same as what client installer contains. Just unpack contents of empires_client_231a.exe (anywhere) and use that.

    Mirror

What about Linux? Have to install wine / vm now to get the server stuff? Or bear with hours of uploading? Seems almost as brilliant as dropping DX8 support.

I'll make it download from VIPER/Main in the meantime, so it should get fixed when anyone plays it.

That means your download broke, I used Herbie's myself and it worked fine.

how about making it do 31 damage at close to medium ranges and then fall of to 30 at farther ranges?

    wut?

    infantry weapons rape atm.

Rifles feel just about right. SMG's could use a tad more than no spread when crouched though.

If anything I feel the rifles are actually more overpowered now than they were in 2.30. I really feel like I've fucked up on this one. Main issues (from using them myself):

    NFHR: Fine
    BEAR: Too much base spread
    BEHR: Simply too accurate
    NFAR: Simply too accurate

BEAR is an easy fix, but I mean, the NFAR/BEHR are really sniping at the moment. I might increase the falloff on them a little, but the base accuracy is a little too high for what they are. I don't know, I'm going to play some more and see if I can tweak them for the next hotfix. Realistically, MOST aspects are working, especially the new moving rifle accuracy, which I certainly want to keep. They just need specific aspects tweaking considerably.

Smg1 is a bit to snipy and sniping across the map while standing with pistol1 feels strange.

What about instead of balancing smg1 & smg2 with accuracy make smg1 super high rof and low damage and smg2 slow rof and high damage? Cause it just feels not right that you can outsnipe people with the smg1.

All I will say is, low RoF weapons have always felt really unfun to use. They're just not enjoyable for either side. You either get annoyed because you fired too slow to hit someone, or the other person gets annoyed because they got instakilled. It's just not fun.

Well making smg's / pistol super good sniper weapons doesnt feel right either. Maybee, but that would cause an outcry, give one smg to the engi and one to the scout and balance it around those classes...

SMGs are fine for the most part. SMG1 could have more firepower, SMG2 could use a slightly smaller cone (esp with accuracy upgrade).
