I find I get the 1 hit kill most often from ground level. I still think it is between the tank and turret not on the very top.

Last night I got up on top of several different tanks with the engy tool but couldn't find any unarmored spots, so I think it has something to do with what Simon said about going between the tank and turret.

this shouldn't be a feature... a tank should be something to be feared as it cost enough res.

in my opinion this is like headshots but much worse.

    --------------

still, the top of armour should be a weak spot. I suggest that the rear armour is linked to the top, as it will be weak, so the top can still be a point to attack.

I dout it. And why bother? The only time you can get a shot at it is if the things been fliped and they its dead any way.

When it's upside down it takes damage, even if it's not on the ground.

But it does need it so that 1 mine isn't an instakill.

Then they deserve to be blow to peaces lol. anyway mines blow when an edge of the tank goes over them so it takes out armor first. One way I "defuse" mines when in a med tank is just to get one with regen armor and edge up to the mines blow them and wait for the armor to grow back as its rare to get much damage to the chases.

the armour has to hit the mines though... Sometimes you can drive over mines and nothing happends. Sometimes you drive over mines and they explode after the armour moced over them = instan kill even with just one mine :/

Thats lame. so thats you don't have to go on-top and under tanks to do the repairs, the plates should curve onto the bottom and top, and then the damage is distributed as if it was hit in a back corner.

mines are MEANT to be insta kills for vehicle, that's their purpose. if they wern't then mines would be rubbish, as anyone who went over them would just repair their vehicle and continue.

mines we're meant to damage common vehicles!
The CV clearly is a rare fluke, seeing as it has the toughest hull and armour...

I'm not saying don't do that, but the problem is that grenades under a tank can kill it too easily, its not balanced, and its lame. Hand grenades should not be able to kill a vehicle from underneath like a mine can.

Dying from nades is not a problem on its own. Enemy needs more or less 5 nades to destroy a tank. What irritates my is that when you're hit by nade you're stuck. You get acceleration=0 v=0 and it's hard to get out of area that is gren spammed. However it's not a thing that should be fixed because you can just avoid such situations by moving at higher speed. (I think that only 3phase is good for that on escort)

Next to fusion, 3 phase is the least useful engine on Escort

Maybe fusion needs a small nuclear explosion upon destruction :D.

I meant: when using BSID Battlefield settings. (it's all mess now you don't know which server has new settings, which has 1.08 and so on). I can shoot my HE and drive forward/backward at full speed to avoid missiles and other shit.

If speed/horsepower and so on from bsid battlefield would be default in 1.08 I could do the same that I did in earlier versions (before Krenzo added some feature that made driving far more difficult): driving with 3phase APC on escort at *full* speed. You just need to have low ping and train a bit.

Another thought about scripts: I played on BSID r&d server. Assuming that horsepower/speed settings are fucked up only because they're for 1.08 that has other constant there's still a problem: 1 mortar shot takes 3-4 composite armor plates and 50% hull of med tank. In other words: IT'S FUCKING RIDICULOUS! Simon said something that people wanted bigger mortar damage or something but it's already very powerful and much easier to use than rocket launcher. Of course you can drive at full speed to the flag but you'll still get mowtar'd when you're at flag (capturing and stuff takes like 20 seconds) For example if I would ask for bigger arty damage it wouldn't be changed because I'm pretty good with arty (as are other people). I don't see any reason why mortar should be different.

PS. no, I'm not going to go BSID forums just to discuss settings that will affect *everyone* playing next release. (if no-one sees a problem here, ignore it :P)

    Yup, i've noticed that too.

I suggested changing it round, so that armor is far more durable than hull, and takes longer to repair. I think it would make more sense, and would give a greater choice between armor and weapons.
