its no new issue at all, i just didnt play much, does anyone have any idea what to do about it? so far i only experienced this with empires, but i dont play any other source games. in the meanwhile i memorized half the english keyboard layout - sadly it doesnt help my english. i tried some stuff i googled up, like uninstalling english keyboard layout (it keeps reinstalling seems), but nothing works long-term. any help would be very appreciated, thanks in advance. OS is win10
I've never seen Empires change my keyboard layout. I do however sometimes accidentally press windows+space which switches it to something different. Does switching back to your other keyboard layout using windows+space work as a workaround?
it seems to be a source engine bug http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3138322 not sure that solution linked in that post works with windows 10.
but why is alt+shift a problem in source and source alone? i use alt+shift in blender all the time (alt is loop selection, shift is add to selection) and it doesnt change my language. anyway, i found a workaround. i added english (us) to my language options - it wasnt installed previously - and replaced the keyboard with the german keyboard layout. ofc now i also change language in blender, but the keyboard stays the same which is the important part about it.
