I was bored today and decided that I should map. The outcome was this. It comes with all the entities needed to compile and run a basic Empires map. Emp_template Dead link, use this http://raegquit.com/beerdude26/emp_template.7z Now go forth and create the map of your dreams!
what are the info_player_start and func_brush supposed to do? also theres 2 map overviews, which is no problem but redundant as you could simply shift-copy them. other then that certainly a quite useful resource, especially the non-vmfs, thanks
info_player_start is just a standard, if I ever wanted to load it in Hl2 or such, it would require an info_player_start. The func_brush is there just to stand out from the geometry and have a place of keeping all entities at the same place. It's disabled ingame. The two map overviews are there to show that you can actually have more than 1 map overview. The displacements are also grouped to one group, which should make them easier to edit when working with displacements.
Thanks. Someone posted something like this a few years ago. Makes mapping a little easier having the basics to get started. been keeping an eye on server population if it starts growing more I will start mapping.
will put this in the wiki when i figure out my password. also flasche all the official maps have a info_player_start (including eastborough!), so its good to have one!
dont be afraid to ask on the forums for stuff you cant find on the internet, thats what its there for i guess
