    There's only one reactor on the Carl vinson AFAIK, smaller than a reactor at chernobyl, and i doubt they have failing heat systems.

    Two 550 MW reactors and they're designed so that when heat increases power decreases instead of the other way around in chernobyl's plants.

    Just reminding that scientist caused the explosion because they removed all the cooling rods or what they are called, those which stablesize the reaction. Anyway, they removed them compleatly and after that shut down the cooling system of the reactor. After few seconds heat sky rocketed and after seconds at that point insta kill. (Means reactor blew up.)

    If they wouldn't have done that, I think it would be up even nowadays but maybe shuted down.
