The idea behind changing the seismic name is to better indicate that it's not a grenade in the traditional sense of the word - it doesn't do anything against infantry, only against buildings. It might help someone, even if it will be largely unnoticed. The change took basically no effort anyways.
I question if anyone even reads the name, but still resonator doesn't sound like it actually destroys anything. Call it Building Destructor if you want to teach through names. My real question is how the flag cap thing works when someone joins the team mid cap, does it stop or keep going? I suppose it's not a big deal because the if someone joins the team once they get to it will cap faster and it's easier to stay alive. On that note though if someone leaves team mid cap does it go to slow cap or keep the fast cap? I'm mostly presuming it's just checking this once when someone enters the cap zone.
i too question that the name change will change much. it looks like a nade, its thrown like a nade, it is a nade.
Updated the beta branch to fix cannon recoil, urbanchaos cubemaps and some issues with Hammer. Wiki changelog has been updated.
So here it is. It just looks bad in my opinion at this speed. It looks like I am just lagging, which is terrible. Edit: It needs a second crosshair as well so you can pre-aim while turning.
It just needs a bit of smoothing out, if that's what it takes. I like the concept, though, of having a turn delay. This prevents, as many have said, lightning speed turret turns.
You run into the HIT problem then. It needs to have "Seismic" in the name, that won't go away anymore.
That looks fucking terrible and way too fucking fast. Like might aswell not have it if its that fast. Holy shit thats not going to change anything
To be fair, you are kinda "shaking" the turret. I tried the turret myself, it feels perfectly normal when I am just tracking the target. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rq3n4ixou437h0v/turretturning.dem?dl=0
Even when I wasn't shaking it, it just felt like lag to me. Plus, you aren't just tracking the target the entire time, you quite frequently move it around to get a view of everything going on in close combat and this would be frequently seen. Edit: Plus, it still needs the second crosshair.
i hate the idea and it looks like forced lag (which it is) are we going to limit mouse sensitivity on infantry next since real people cant turn 180 degrees that fast? you give people too much credit. it looks like a nade. PEOPLE WILL CALL IT A NADE. it will be thrown like a nade. if you make it look like a guitar it will still be thrown at riflemen because throwing guitars at people is fun also i never see people using seismics as a nade unless its as a joke (or because they thought they changed their class)
I see new people toss seismics at people because they thought it did something, or I do it just so I can make the enemy's screen shake around making me harder to hit. New people tend learn it doesn't work pretty fast though, so I also don't see the point in the name change.
Man that turret rotate looks like some sweet lag simulation, is this gonna improve game performance too? Also taking from World of Tank/Warthunder/MWO, there should be a crosshair of where the barrel is pointed and where the camera is looking
