I've begun to colour the tank destroyers. And that's led me to creating camo textures. The objective of camo is to make things harder to spot. Modern camo isn't just block colour. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_camouflage So: What camo style do you want on the tank destroyers? Old(existing vehicles) style: Modern style: NOTE: I will not change the existing tank materials to use a modern pattern. This will be for the tank destroyers. I am going to make the final decision, but i want your input. What camo style do you want on the tank destroyers?
It should look like "one of the boys" and not stand out. I'd say you should just make your decision based on that.
I think prefer dis type: I didn't find digi camo for tankses that I like after a quick search on the interwebs. Except dis but it uses a net: This one is from world of tankses. I didn't find a digi camo in real life with so small squares. I like it but I prefer the first style =o
It's also their intellectual property, and they fiercely guard that. @Ranger I like the look of the first one too... That smooth blotchy pattern...
why not just redo the camo style for all the vehicles? i mean if you would be willing todo that vulcan. cus i think a more "digial" style of camo would fit BE better
Trust me when I say it's impractical. My image editing skills aren't good enough. And it would take a lot of effort, for no big change.
there also probably are no uv layouts (idk tho) so texture painting would be a lot of guesswork. ofc you could import them to your 3d suite and re-unwrap the models, but thats a shitload of work.
Vulcan, you are missing the point from what I linked you. The idea was not digital camouflage, but the principle of fractal, multi-scale patterns. It's a completely different principle, trying to solve an entirely different problem. See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_camouflage#Multi-scale_patterns
