We've set up a patreon account, so that we're no longer leaving all the costs to one developer to pay. So far, the only two patrons are two devs, and we don't have enough commitments to keep development going. If this system is received well, we could also put out advertisements for Empiresmod, to get more players. The details are here.
Add rewards for being patreon, custom title or something and ill put in a lil bit of money Also when you guys introduce the xp system and hat system, if ever introduced, make it so you can buy hats and skins with money and then put that in patreon. Just saying
All u shits out there that have played this game for free all these years bettet do something now it really needs us. Dont be that fjcking bypasser thats looking at the unconscious guy on the floor walking by you fucks.
Wish you could also do single payments. The idea of monthly pay is gonna drive many people away from it.
I like how the picture is a bootybay match. That's a great empires map for sure. For real though it does show empires in a nutshell, so that's cool. Buying hats and skins is always a poop idea. I mean it's a good idea financially, but I still don't like it.
thats not why Iam donating You say "all you farts who played this game for free should donate" and then say you wont donate with no rewards...wtf man (He edited the post) And I can always just redo it or add more later ..
I believe in Tama's Patreon post he said no Micro-transactions. That is a micro-transaction. Also, I might chip in a couple dollars a month. It would be nice for everyone to help out and some rewards would be nice... Forum flairs maybe?
Ill put in some money either way, Im just waiting to see if we get any skins or rewards or title changes. I mean people would put money in for title changes no? Tama get your capitalist pig game on srsly
whats wrong with micro transactions that dont impact the game? I never get that. Its perfect, only cosmetics look at dota
While I do agree cosmetic micro-transactions are the only one's I agree with, I still feel micro-transactions are bad for the game. If they were to do it they should offer special items to Patreon donors (As a reward), or make the bought "items" also achievable in game. Microtransactions are just scummy.
Mostly because it can make the game look a bit ass, tf2 is a crowning example of that. Also I like how there is these desert and snow themes for be vehicles and it feels kinda crap if it suddenly didn't work because of cashing in. Patreon isn't a one time thing(though it can be if you manage your subs). By this I mean generally rewards are given out at whatever the artist wants, so if you were donating 10$ and they decided to give 10$ people a hat you'd get it. If you meant you were donating then stopped, then suddenly artist gave out something yeah you wouldn't get that item, but if you were just here for that item it'd end up as a one time donation anyway right? I think that's not quite what tama wanted.
If it's all server side items, couldn't it just be revoked? Also, I'm not advocating for camo's. That would help with gameplay. It would have to be stuff that is STRICTLY cosmetic and has NO gameplay side effects, like Planetside. SURE you can roll around with the camo on your tank and be tactical, or you can equip that really cool flame pattern that makes you stick out like a sore thumb because you thought "Fuck it, I'm probably going to die and the camo isn't that efficient and I want to have my mom call me cool". But hey, at least you drove into battle in style amirite?
