Thats why we had the vote where you voted between 2 most popular choices.
Was an awesome thing, not sure why its not anymore.

Votes without that are literally just completely random.
Especially if you get multiple good maps for choice...
The vote will get destroyed by having too many choices.

And then nominate a map and add more choices -.-

My original point was not that we should adress this problem, my point was that surrenderplug in is not the solution to long shitty sieges like you suggested it was.
I think the surrenderplugin is fine as in, it's not perfect but atleast it saves 5 minutes from stupid camping. It doesnt however save us from 20 minutes of shitty siege. so you can say we dont need other solutions to this siege problem since we have this plugin

Here, allow me to introduce you, the script changes of 2.12.0.

Every single cannon/missile will deal 200 damage to infantry.
If you get hit by biological weapon, you'd be poisoned and you'd lose all stamina, you'll eventually die unless an engi heals you. (sounds familiar?)
.50 cal will deal 150 damage to infantry and will also be able to damage light vehicles.
You will be able to damage turrets with any infantry weapon.
All infantry classes's resist against nuke will be removed. 45% --> 0%, that is.

And of course, a landmine will deal 200 damage to infantry.

No, please, stop with that "it's intuitive" reason, I mean that's by far the worst, and unfortunately the only reason I heard.

mines should more damage because its visible as fuck, and if you dont see it you deserve to die. TRIAL AND ERROR. If you dont die its not trial and error, its just trial .

    Exactly.

Now that you reminded me, it should be 400 damage.
I mean, when you receive enough 1-hit from those std cannon/ranged cannon/.50 cal, you'll eventually learn to get a vehicle.

    No.
But if an enemy tank is just spamming cannons at the entrance of your spawn, you might wanna take another spawn point.........wait this actually sounds familiar.

Actually, in 2.11.0, I gave all infantry classes an additional 10% resist against HE, maybe I should take that back because that is completely counter-intuitive.
    You with me?

but whats the reasoning behind mines not insta-killing? i mean its not like mines would be useful against vehicles either ...

mines are static, if you dont run around like a headless chicken rather easy to spot and usually in the same place (except for the random stray mine in the middle of nowhere)

but tbh im quite neutral on this.

Are mines useless against vehicles? Next time when you play a 10v10+ game, you can try to count "how many vehicles died to mines".
Even if the vehicle survives, the driver would still have to repair if he's not a defusal gren.

Now, as for infantry, landmines give no interaction(it's not something that fires at you), a gren can drop them instantly and it's very easy for a gren to seal off areas as Lazybum said.
"Something that's not very easy to see just killed me instantly." --- emp_recruit 2006-2017.

This goes to every single one of you, imagine in League/Dota/CoD/WoT(or any other game you play, really) there's a skill that allows you to drop a "VISIBLE" thing on the ground, if enemy steps on that, he dies instantly WITHOUT any subsequent action.

    How OP would that be?
I don't know, in every single game I played, that's a pretty OP skill/ability, but apparently Empires is special we need to maintain that.

"Mines are easy to see" -- Empires vets 2017.
"It's easy to get more kills than the points the 2nd player has." -- Sgt.Security 2017
Those two lines are equally...ignorant, I am sorry if it's a strong word but it's truly ignorant.
Just because we received hundreds of hours of training on "dodging mines" doesn't mean it's easy for those who didn't receive such training.

the moba comparison is not completely equal since dying in dota matters way more than in empires.
Its more comparible with dying in a heavy tank to mines which happens exactly the same in dota.
Theres a hero called techies who places mines. Some are invisible some are visible, the visible ones do more damage.
Anyway if he drops 1 mine it wont kill you, if he drops 4-8 mines same it will instantly kill you if youdont have detection.
Exactly the same goes for empires in heavy tanks where you dont wanna lse your heavie

    BAM ARGUMENT REKT

its already been pointed out that someone was complaining about their mines not killing someone. and that more people complain about getting killed by riflemen
