"No, vote does not work for game development in general, especially Empires."

The opinion of 1. But I would agree that the methods tried so far have expected results.

"we do not need waste time on 10~20 pollings after every patch."

Madness. Why would you post more than one?

"Maybe instead of throwing shit at eachother we could just try out these ideas and see what works best."

That's exactly the idea behind my "try now, vote later". SgtSecurity didn't agree however.

Having time to do a job doesn't mean you can do the job, and it sure doesn't mean you know better than everyone else what is good for Empires. As I recall, nothing you added to Empires even made it on the initial 2.7 release. I think everyone who still bothers to play this game has a right to voice their opinion, but obviously you think otherwise on this subject. So my right to object on something, as long as I keep it civil, shouldn't be in question here. Tossing innuendos like "Is there something you don't want to tell me" is childish and below level of any contributor. I told Tama I would help where I could, but Empires is not my only thing in life.

I think over the years I have contributed enough to this mod to at least be able to voice an opinion that is my own and others in the community. Having blinders on as any member of a development team has never fared well in the past. I have always and will continue to speak out whenever I see anyone suggest or want to implement something detrimental to this game. I keep seeing a few say "what difference will changing it do", and I can understand this, but from the other perspective, if it doesn't make that big of change, why bother with it at all. There are alot more pressing matters that should be being dealt with.

I am growing tired of even trying to argue this point. Yet again, you are going to do what you want to do. People are going to either accept this fact, play on, or go elsewhere. The problem here is you don't really seem to care about the go elsewheres and I do. Last time I checked the heading on this forum section, it was called "Feedback", not shut up and let us do our jobs.

Oh I didn't know you were being civil.

When I said I needed like 70% votes to stop something because I did not bring an idea up for no reason, you just went straight into "because you just stated it doesn't matter what we think, you are going to do what you want no matter the consequences"

Did you know that I actually aborted my "bullet can damage turret" because I received 70~80% no?

Did you know that I received PM about you hinting or outright saying that we are doing horrible jobs in server?
Yeah, because throwing your negative opinions around is definitely better than simply come to us.

When I asked you to point out what have I done wrong so far, you simply threw the question right back and taunted me.

    That's very civilized.

I will stop here, someone has to stop.

I would think that my complaints here would be enough to give you the indication that I think you are doing a bad job. No need for anyone to "PM" you, I will tell you straight to your face. Granted I am definitely not the only one who thinks this. I also think you are a bad admin. I too get PMs, so I know I am not the only one that thinks this. Anytime anyone says anything negative about your performance or lack of in scripting, you abuse your admin powers by muting/gagging them. Lets just agree that I don't care for you as a person and I am sure the feeling is mutual.

it was already tried. it was reverted

if you guys want to see how to correctly gauge community interest and foster feedback you can check my map feedback topics on glycencity and escort changes. why did noone get super angry in that topic you say? well because i didnt add crazy things that didn't need to be added in order to fix them, like a whole new path or a mine restrict over everything. you can also see that i replied to every post and gave people equal weight

Spartacus did 40% resist, mines left anyone with 10 hp if no hp upgrade. Security's 30% leaves them with -5 hp if they don't have hp upgrade, seems pretty dead to me. I seriously feel people are overestimating the nerf.

You can always take it halfway and test it out on just the gren. I don't think people would complain so much if grens resisted if only because I would think it's somewhat assumed they can resist it, especially if they are trying to defuse it and someone else runs into it.

Don't really care either way, but it sure feels like people are making this to be much bigger then it is.

then it doesnt solve his so called "issue" with mines: them killing new players over and over again

is it possible that hes doing exactly what i said he was doing and choosing the most sympathetic excuse (regardless if he believes it or not) to garner the most support?

3 months after this dumb change:
"since it doesnt solve the problem of new players dying over and over again, i guess we'll have to raise it to 40%"

I can certainly go for 40%, but trying out the water is always good.
It took me 2~4 buffs to give Absorbant/Regen/Arty/DUMG their space in the game now.

Yes, we had this and it was removed, and so is RPG research.
So basically you are saying that because it was removed, I should never readd that, no questions asked, right?

The fact that it was removed does not make a good reason for me to not readd that.
I care more about "why it was removed".

We need mines that do less damage but more physics push. The Brenodi Space Program must put a BE on the moon!

Oh, I know that already. It doesn't entirely solve new players stepping on cookies. It does however prevent someone stepping on a mine and wiping out everyone in the near vicinity and makes it harder for a gren to lock down areas by themselves. Mines shouldn't penalize everyone because one person made a mistake.

i think re-adding rpg research is dumb too. i said so in my first post. it was even given a much longer time to settle in unlike the mine change and it STILL didnt work

mine damage nerf was removed because EVERYONE complained. the change sucked. hell, candles defended spartacus' change the first time as "lets just try it out" and then once he took control of the scripts a couple months later the fact that he immediately nerfed it should tell you enough

and if you give me 5-10 minutes to search around im sure i can find evidence for the same thing on rpg research

an easy way to combat this that was immediately ignored by security in the mine poll was disabling mines when someone is defusing it/lowering defuse time

hell, does defusel even have a fucking icon for it yet?
