so i bought a 28" 4k monitor yesterday and decided to give empires a try. while most of the interface scales nicely (or even is a tad big for my taste), other parts seem to not scale so well. its not like its unplayable, although the minimap icons are a big letdown. thankfully i have good eyes :D it btw would be nice to be able to tinker with gui scaling yourself - but thats probably a bit of a bitch to code.
i dont get if you are being sarcastic or not. maybe not making weird smileys at each other sentence would help ...
You can currently only influence the ammo counter by editing hudlayout.res and emp_hud_ammo.res. We're slowly working on making the rest more resolution independent but it's going to take a while.
its only meant as feedback. as said its not gamebreaking, even though the minimap icons really could use a bit bigger. but i assume the vast majority plays on 1920x1080, so dont put it on top priority.
It's a code issue, but jesus that looks unplayable. My advice would be to go into materials/minimap and double the size of every icon. Just scale it up and it should work fine, that's solve at least the most glaring of your issues The menus are just fucked for now, I'm afraid. I'm just incredibly impressed that the new ammo counter can handle that, it's VERY good news for the future when I plan to throw in a visual ammo thing too.
you didn't really suggest that every player with issues should resize theire HUD elements manually - potentioally resulting in an even greater mess xP what do you mean with "visual ammo thing"??? - will we get our "bullet counter" back (oh please without glow/glare!!!)
People can make demands for all they like, we can ignore them for all we like. It's all fair. But really, as long as the guy isn't assigning a deadline or something, I see no problem with demands.
Spoiler: Sgt.Security also i didn't feel "demanding" - i please him for gods sake! (if he said "nope" there's eighter not much i can do about it anyways! xP)
