Totally slipped my mind, whoops. Yeah if it's fixed sure we'll have the pug this saturday. I do feel like I have something to do... but I'm sure I can get it done in the morning before it's time for pug. I'm not going to make announcements quite yet though, I want to see how plugin is working so far. I'll see if I can get people together friday or possibly later today to fully test it.
you guys need to make an event for this, like noone is going to show up if noone knows something is going on tonight. This is just badly organized already
The plugin seemed like 95% ready for the pug. And even the 5% that wasnt ready doesnt really stop it from being used at pug properly. If captains dont abuse. So I think its ready.
(All) Señor_Awesome: my best performance today was on the map we crashed on (All) Señor_Awesome: typical (All) .|Ϟ|. ScardyBob, the PUG plugin was great. Some teething problems sure, but we actually had one good game that wasn't stacked to shit. Maybe if each captain gets four or five picks each, after everyone has auto-assigned? Should mitigate the worst stacking and still not take an entire night. And thank you for organizing it Lazybum.
So plugin was fucking amazing, few remarks though. The menu sometimes doesnt pop up when its your time to pick so you have to manually pick and then the name, problem with that is you need to have an easy name. Incase you have a hard name you cant change type neo for neoony, you need to copy paste and put in between brackets otherwise it just doesnt work. + add !endpick and if both captains do end pick the rest of spec gets auto assigned randomly
theres a real topic for it in coding section https://forums.empiresmod.com/index...ick-up-game-pug-sourcemod-plugin-server.20424
Man I like PUGs, should have one every week-end! Here's a couple of screenshots of the scoreboards, first one is highest amount of players, second one is the last time I opened up the scores before it crashed. Spoiler: Screenshots Here's the recording, unfortunately I had forgotten to start recording at the beginning so it starts 8 minutes into the round.
That first match was just about the best game of Empires I've had in years. Here is a link to the demo I recorded of that game. The match proper begins at 38360 frames (19:10), which means that choosing teams took up ~42% of the match time. In this demo, you can see me run into very many tanks, and some of them were even on purpose.
Yeah, picking players took a looong time. But it was supposed to be the same teams for 3 or 4 maps. so it would only have been like 25% of the time at most.
Actually we from watching this demo I remembered something. We need a player based vehicle maximum. Way way way too many fucknig vehicles its not fun at all. It should be something like half the amount of players. So 20 people on nf, max vehicle limit 10.
Half + 1. Or well if you re-code that part you're probably going to exclude the CV from the vehicle count anyhow.
