NF CV Tires Provide no cover: it seems that dev's have removed the tire collision box to "fix" an issue with getting stuck on turrets turns out they changed turrets collision box! - also the issue is a missing hitbox! the proplem is just that you get targeted&shoot by enemy MG turrets trough them! rendering an accidentally wrong parked CV quite hard to reach :-/ Reproduction steps: 1. let the com drive CV anywhere near enemy MG turrets 2. try to hide behind its freaking big tires 3. experience being shot trough them 4. decide if you eighter... 4a. fall into panic and try to crouch/prone under the CV, realizing that it would clearly not help and start crying 4b. wall your own CV and trap yourself&your com out of reach - enjoy teams shitstorm 4c. yell for admin to ungrief the CV and proceed with step 1. Building issues: at some maps there's very few buildspace through "uneven terrain", please adjust whatever caused it because the building models have enough room to compensate more uneven terrain than they are allowed to atm! :-/ and sometimes there's a "collides with something" message, but looking closely there is nothing in the way - no player, no map prop! experience that sporadicly also permanantly - will check some maps and make screens later Reproduction steps: 1. start any not to flat map 2. try to build somewhere where enough room for the building exist 3. get anoyed by the "uneven terrain" message or "solides with something" error 4. go out CV and look yourself 5. experience that there is just a small hill that could be easaly taken over by the buildings model! these are only examples - happens on every map - but at some it really limits buildspace! Dont think you could ever hit tires / dont remember tires having collision. I often shoot rpgs or other things through them. Iam guessing collision on wheels can be a trouble.
I don't think wheels have ever been "solid". They do collide against players, though. In regards to vehicles colliding against entities, this has been modified in the past to prevent them from going up the mesh and getting stuck. As an example: Version 1.01 Beta March 17, 2006 Changed turret collision mesh from a pyramid shape to a box so that vehicles won't drive up onto them and get stuck Speaking of which, the new BE Engineer Radar model does not have a box-shaped mesh, which would cause the above to occur. There may be more examples of this, I'm not sure. You'd have to verify all collision meshes for all models. But all of them should be box-shaped.
collision is not exactly the same thing as having a hitbox Also this is a problem with other vehicles, be meds sometimes and LTs alot of times. Lts are more like hovercraft when you look at their actual hitbox and how high off the ground it is
ah yea hitbox was the word i'm searching for @Awpolt: i disagree on every collision box should be box-shaped - actually driving over turret sides always was a way to keep enemy out of VF! - i know that simple collision models safe performance and that anything more complex than basic geometric figures increase performance hit drastically! but what about a "pillar" collision mesh for turrets? only covering the turrets "head"
