The year is 1954 on earth, the cold war is in full swing and the whole east vs west tension is at breaking point.
On the verge of all-out war, The USSR decides to create a backup plan to potentially escape the planet.

Deep within the north east of Russia, a facility is build to develop and construct a working worm-hole generator, while developing this they also realize they could potentially use it to obtain more resources from other planets. By 1962 the device is complete, and war still hasn't broken out thankfully. Negotiations are taking place every day in Berlin to quell the potential firestorm that could occur.

Back deep inside Russia, the cold, bitter winter rages on as the Generator is complete. The go-ahead is given to fire it up. The test is successful when trying to establish a portal on the planet designated "112-53B", a expeditionary force of 4 squads and 12 scientists is sent through.

They come out in a lush, green forest with birds tweeting all around, an account of one of the soldiers said "It's just like home.. But warmer".

the 5th day of having the worm-hole open they discover civilization and make contact with the Jekotians. Rather than trying to take over, kill or attack these alien humans they set up negotiations to work with them to benefit both groups. The USSR inform the Jekotians of the state on their planet, and the Jekotians do the same, saying they are in a similar situation. Being constantly threatened by the Brenodians with invasion and oppressive orders, they both come to an agreement that the Bulk of the Jekotian military will aid the USSR in defeating the West if they USSR agrees the help them defeat the Brenodi Empire afterwards.

In 1964 the Jekotians establish their own wormhole generator to stablize the link between the two worlds. However, after a malfunction in the Jekotians wormhole generator, the Wormhole closes and is destroyed by a melt-down of the reactor powering it.

As this catastrophe happens, Brenodi Spies inform the Empire of what has happened and begin the invasion of Jekotia. Numerous innocent lives are taken in the battle for Jekotia while the USSR and Jekotian military try to get the worm hole open again. The great battle of Black Lake occurs, where thousands are lost on both sides (the most in any conflict between the two to this day) and the remnants of the Jekotian military have their last victory and innovations in technology.

By 1976 the Cold War is over ( but the USSR still exists) and they finally fix the wormhole generator and connect to Jekotia, when they step through they see the destruction of their nation that has happened. The general of the Jekotian military renames the force the "Northern Faction", a combined arms force of USSR and Jekotian soldiers begins to fight the Empire and take back their land. They rebuild the Jekotian wormhole generator and begin to rebuild their nation behind the war that has broken out.

many old technologies are re-discovered while the empire falls into a dark age of technology, where nothing new is really developed and the older veterans of the first Jekotian-Brenodi war hold back any innovations due to their higher ranks in the military. The Emperor has no care for the new war and does not get involved at all, letting his grizzled, stuck-up generals keep control of the malfunctioning military.
