Recycling unbuilt buildings gives back no resources.

    Recently when I've been commanding, I've placed an important building such as a radar and realised it's in the wrong place, blocking a rax exit for instance. I then recycled it before anyone started building it...

    But I got no resources back.
    Any other commanders found this?

    AFAIK it has been around for a while, and definitely happened to me in the last month.
    Or has this been fixed now?

    yesterday ive recycled shit and got resources from it so it seems at the least its an off and on kinda deal

    isnt it expected behavior? you get something back tho, like 10 res for a rax or something ...

    ... always fully build everything before recycling.

    edit:
    but maybe there should be like a 5-10second grace period where you get the full amount back unless the building took damage in the meanwhile.
    just for when you accidentially place it instead of rotating or whatever.
    such things happen, they shouldnt hurt a team.

    unbuilt and undamaged should always fully refund imo... dont penalize silly mistakes like that with game ending shit... a rax placed wrongly early game could mean defeat.

    well my consideration was if it was an accident you notice within 5-10seconds.
    otherwise it would create an odd inconsistency where a single touch of the calulator reduces a 200res return to 10.
    in the grace period youd get the full amount back even if people already started building.

    but either way, something like that would be nice.

    i dont see how building something should reduce its value either...

    Something like;

    unbuilt: 100% (IF damaged, 'fully built' applies)
    under construction: 100% - (built% /2) (IF damaged, 'fully built' applies)

    fully built/damaged: 50% - (damage% /2)


    Makes most sense... It seems complex in calculations but makes sense in practice...

    if a building is damaged by the enemy, practically the recycle gain is halved, and that remaining 50% is scaled to the damage, 1 hp left = 1% refund.... if not damaged;

    full refund for unbuilt
    if partially built, small penalty to a bottom of 50% refund if fully constructed.

    but you do that too - if unbuilt is 100% and under construction is 100 - (whatever you substract) its gets less the more its built and thats not very logical.
    also once it gets damaged and be it only a single stray du-mg hit it would degrade dramatically. (from 75% for half built to 25% for half built and damaged)

    building something should never penalize the engi (time) or the team (res).

    i dont think i misunderstand, do i?

    I built on the concept already in, evolution over revolution, placing a building where it can be damaged is risky but also very rewarding... hence penalties should be the most extreme here

    yeah the damage part was useless critics, i should have left that out. but it doesnt look like theres much interest in this anyway ...
