Typical soulless Bethseda RPG, amirite? Personally, I can't get into RPGs that don't have an expansive main story line, but that's just me.
Then you will be happy to know that FO4 is not an RPG and is an open world shooter like the new Far Cry games.
They are different, it's a isometric(I think that's the correct term) style rpg. It's also straight turn based. I think those guys went on and made Arcanum, which is really solid for anyone who wanted more old school fallout. I could care less about main story lines. It can be nice sure, but my goto when it comes to open worlds is pick a direction and start running, or if I didn't quite know what some things meant sneak in that direction. I'll play fallout 4 eventually, but there's still plenty to do in new vegas. Fallout 3 too, but vegas makes me want to play it a bit more.
Fallout 2 is the best fallout game Baldur's Gate is better than Fallout 2 Baldur's Gate is better than Fallout 4
i was this close to buy it today, but then i thought about bugs and shit and how its not gonna cost 50€ anymore in a few months ...

I'm going to deliver my opinion on which is better in a few years, but I suspect the public's differs from mine.
I have played 25 hours in two days and encountered exactly two bugs and a minor graphical glitch. And they were not gamebreaking bugs either, just the subtitles not working correctly sometimes and the tab button not responding after you open steam overlay with "shift+tab", which is fixed by just opening and closing the overlay or using different keybind for it. I also had the HUD completely disappear a few times but it goes back to normal if you go into 3rd person and back. All in all the game is a lot of fun, I feel like I already got my money's worth and I don't think I'm even half way trough the main campaign and only explored like 1/3 of the map. I wanted to make this post a bit longer and ask you kindly to stop being a hipster about FO1-2 and Baldur's gate but I'll just go back to playing instead.
I watched the intro and some 'Murica museum kinda place, the game looks decent but it didn't completely overtake me with passion. I'm sure I'd enjoy my time with it enough to put a few dozen hours into it when/if I eventually pick it up. However, StarCraft II and Rise of the Tomb Raider are higher on my shopping list, so it may be a while. Not to mention my ridiculous RPG backlog, since I'm still trying to beat Dark Souls 1.
