The DT 770s are a bit weak on the high end. Sounds good now.

You gave enough fucks to use a language construct that requires for you specify a fucking timeframe before you use it.

Why don't you both go and talk shit elsewhere.

Don't those amps come already assembled?

If anything I've always felt silly not using the equalizer. I tried using it for good one time but then ended up just playing around with it trying to make different sounds and thinking I was some hot shit DJ. Is it that necessary or can I live with everything on 0 ?

thats really dependent on how well your output device can represent the audio. physically speakers can only display a certain range of frequencies, thats why u often have 3 way speakers (high, med, low). theres speakers for producers that depict all of them equally, consumers often want more bass (thus why you get woofers with all the cheap soundsystems).
unless you are really audiophile (but you wouldnt ask then, especially not here) wheter you want to use an eq or not is merely a matter of taste.

when saying that, if its a dedicated internal audio device you can try moving it further away from your gfx card, there can be interference - i never experienced it myself though, but i have all my cards seperated as much as possible for better cooling ...

Fans do cause a fuckton of noise sadly. All my guitars and basses have single coils so I have to face away from my PC to play them.

There really seems to be some connection with the graphic card. When i'm ingame i have the static noise, when i alt-tab to the desktop it goes away. So load on the GPU (or maybe the CPU) has some influence.

Do you have the fans setup in a way that increased the speed with the temperature?

The case and CPU fans have constant speed, but i have no clue what the graphics card fans are doing, they are on the default setting. They probably are connected to the temperature, but i don't think their speed is changing exactly when i switch to the desktop.

Sounds like typical unshielded on-board audio picking up emi from the graphics card to me.

    Sennheiser HD 650 Headphones.

O2 Headphone amp, open-source designed or someshit. Cyberkiller recommended it.

Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 Deluxe sound card(s).

My EQ layout is pretty much identical to Jephir's.

Also, @ non-audiophile plebs in this thread. Buying nice headphones/earphones is pointless if you're still listening to the same shitty 128kbps mp3s you downloaded off Limewire 10 years ago. 256-320kbps can be considered a minimum for MP3, with FLAC lossless being preferable. It makes a big difference.
I put a comparison together (a while ago) here.

Sadly, for that I can't hear too much of a difference. I do know what you mean though, it just seems to me that compression affects acoustic stuff less than something like techno or something. Even then, 256-320 kbps is pretty damn good for most users who aren't rocking 300$ headphones.

I mean something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K6OnRqo4og (which I think is actually compressed a bit, but one of those weird times where I kinda like it.)

    Or this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF-kfnyHXVc

These songs have a bit more going one, the one trickster linked is a much simpler song in comparison. It isn't limited to just a bunch of techno stuff, here is something that I can also tell the difference when there is compression. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jtZ4_kDb34

My problem with sennheiser is that they feel so cheap, you bought a headphone for 250 euros and its all plastic. I guess thats the main reason why I personaly prefer AKG or beyerdynamics.

No one mentioned beats by dr.dre? I actually expected someone mention it + 10 pages of rage.
