Same problem as Minecraft, Terraria, Rust, DayZ, etc. What's the point? There's no drive or end point, the aim of the game is to simply prolong the game.

Also I'm never buying early access games again, it's a dodgey business practise.

It's like legos - It's a framework for fun. You have to actually build your own fun.

That's compared to a "typical" game where someone else builds the fun and you just play in it.

This looks cool but I will get it when it's finished, too many games are unfinished nowadays.
Also, am I the only one who didn't fall for early access scams?

Building your own fun really doesn't work when you're an adult.

I do miss Lego (a singular noun, for the record) though.

I liked Lego but I loved Knex. With Knex, I could build something that actually did shit.

    Bitches, please. Mechano.

I always ended up building a robot with Knex and then spent hours trying to find a way to get them to stand up.

The same list that keeps featuring preordered games, DayZ and Rust at top places.

See, this guys gets it, knex is awesome. Still mess around with it with my nephew.

About the actual game this thread is about, meh. I like terraria and have some fun with starbound, but these 3d games end up feeling grindy to me. Not to say terraria or starbound don't have this problem, but they keep me interested with their little nuggets of strange cool stuff, exploration and all that.

Rust had a good early access, the game was built around social interaction so it didn't depend too much on features, but shit so many other games are literally pre-alphas being sold $20. An Alpha is not meant to be sold for money, or even tested outside of the company. The beta version and up is the only part where someone should play it, and monetizing that for a price higher than $10 is just pure shillery.

Minecraft also had good "early access", although back then they called it what it is, Alpha (and indev, infdev, etc). The game was also decent enough that the experience didn't require all of the features which came at release.

No he's entirely right, I have next to no creativity. Most of the shit I built I did from instructions. I built a lego moonbase bigger than myself at the age of 3, based off the pictures. I built the Knex ball factory aged 6, and that was twice the height of me, I had to use a chair to build the top half.

But building anything original? Nope. Not a chance. I don't have an ounce of creativity in my body. I wish I did so I could enjoy games like Gmod and Minecraft and shit, but I just don't.

No one above the age of 18 can enjoy either of those games.
