Firefox called it a video file and tried to play it in WMP... Works fine though :D As for floating turrets, could you possibly rig the bunkers to explode in a way that only affects turrets? If you set the damage to an insane amount (if at all possible), it would leave dead floating turrets that would disappear soon enough.
OOOOOOOOOOOO! GIANT TRANSPARENT CAKE! Can I have a slice? Serious: Looks even better and nicer, I can't wait to play it, have to finish my work though first.
Wait, what type of cake, what flavour? How explosive is that land mine? Edit: That ERROR looks pretty tasty too :D
Whoops Damn you Dafleck, damn you and your custom models! It should be just the heavy tank that doesn't show up. Are there any other error signs in the level, or is that the only one? The missing model can be found in this package here. Again, extract to your Empires directory. I'll update the original archive ASAP. Oh, and thanks to Dafleck for letting me use his wreckage models. They are definately good enough to be included as standard in 1.8.
GJ Broccoli. Now all you have to do is bug the living daylight out of Krenzo until he puts it in 1.08. EDIT: Now that I think about it, that might be counter-productive .
put more craters in, it definately needs more craters and a trench or two. oh, and I'd add in some random hills or rocks to hide behind, mix it up. it's a good map, but lacks direction. the best bits in any game are when the players all get together and have to party together. emphasis there on "good map". it's a damn good map.
HA yea, add a nifty lil trench somewhere. the type that you cant see but that you fall into. make it teleprot you to the top of the map so you fall back down into the same spot, crashing the server and BLOWINGUPTHEWORLD!!! realisticaly, make a trench.
Just add some random grass that's tall enough to hide in. A few craters and maybe a trench in mid wouldn't hurt either, but they're not neccesary.
Problem is, no grass will be sufficient to hide you, because it all fades out at a distance. You might think that you are hiding, but to the enemy it just looks like you're crouched in an open field. And having a few clumps would be just like that Monty Python sketch: "How not to be seen". Craters would work, but also provide a serious irritation when the CV drives into them.
Maybe we can get some real grass when Episode 2 comes out (or at least it's SDK updates). BTW I love that sketch. :D It's a classic.
This sounds a bit like an old RTS game called Z. The battlefield was segmented into rectangle areas and you could capture them by touching their respective flags. Some areas had capturable tank/infantry factories and thus, were a frequent target of capturing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z_(computer_game) You should make a map inspired by the style of Z maps; areas (not all, though) are divided by cliffs and rivers, they could be crossed by blowing away parts of the cliffs, or using bridges... which could also be blown away.
