I wouldn't call Foobar unpolished as much as it's just spartan. It's very simple with the ability to be complex and configured for a variety of needs. I can install it in portable mode with maybe an extra codec or two and take it with me anywhere. Or I can install it with extra plugins for resampling, equalizing, all sorts of codecs and features.
Before my ff decided to be a fuckwit and erased all my tabs, I had, no joke, some 300 odd tabs at the very least. It was so far gone I grouped them into domains. Granted, It was 90% TvTropes stuff, with the occasional odd site in between, but it still made me chuckle that I got over my quasi hoarding attitudent durig my childhood, but was/am a real sucker when it comes to hoarding knowledge. Fuck you Tvtropes and BattleTech wiki. Never had a problem with recalling what was where in that chaotic mass, despite not even being remotely near to some parts for close to 8 months. Then again, I'm pretty chaotic by nature, so It comes as no suprise. You just gotta love ff, it takes it the same amount of time to boot up with 5 and 500 tabs. derp
Does anyone else see the irony? Chrome has a horrible "No Tracking" feature that is buried in their clusterfucker settings. FF privacy settings + NoScript = best private browsing
Chrome : If you enjoy using closed source programs from shady companies that have on many occasions admitted to violating the rights of their customers, this is for you! Firefox :
Does firefox have an omnisearch function now or is it still a separate searchbox? I might give it a shot again.
whats omnisearch? if it means you can just search using the address bar and it includes your browser history, bookmarks and google in the results while typing its like that since before they started this weird versioning stuff making me use FF20. also the poll sucks, i actually use 2 browsers regularily. FF on workstations and chrome on mobile - though this reminds me to try out the current FF for mobiles, maybe they did something that makes me want to use it so i finally can use the inbuilt sync stuff (though i probably dont need it at all)
I didn't take secondary browsers into account when I made the poll. I use the stock Android browser and Opera Mini on my phone.
You're close, managing tabs is usually easier than managing bookmarks. That's because bookmark managers are based on the abomination from Netscape.
Sorry to be so harsh, but HAR HAR. There is a point where one can only either laugh or cry about the shit firefox pulls. I've lost way too many FF sessions at work, closing FF properly friday evening, just to open it with a lost session on a groggy monday morning.
I did have a long post typed here but then I deleted it For those interested in privacy Id suggest also using Duck Duck Go instead of google search. With the use of their bangs (try searching something and adding !w for example to look it up directly on wikipedia) I find it a far better search engine
YES mainly this, firefox did that twice to me, after i swapped to opera, that didn't happen no more, but whatever. opera opera, i like it, i like it.
Oh gosh you would run into danger of receiving the nobel peace prize for using your interwebs in the interest of ALL the minorities.
