Literally the best weapon in the game, discuss. Needs a little less accuracy and 20 less damage and it will still rock.
I did give it pretty substantial buffs, but the damage buff was minor. It was mainly moving accuracy, which I threw through the roof. But lol, -20 damage. It'd be basically worthless.
bep2 isn't that great. It's nice in certain situations but rifles/mortar fill it's range pretty well anyway and the accuracy while moving is abysmal. Pistol1 on the other hand, definitely one of the top weapons. Being able to move and shoot is almost entirely unique to the pistol1s. I've sniped scouts while sprinting with the fucking thing it's amazing.
Standing accuracy is equal on both pistols iirc. Pistol 2 is definitely better, havent seen anyone use bep1 since the patch, even at range.
Yeah having played for 30 minutes I retract my statement. BEP2 is probably the best sidearm in the game.
The pistol is fucking wonderful and rightly so. Do you know why it is wonderful? Because you actually get rewarded for patience and timing shots when using it. I played a bit of Escort tonight and I loved the fact that a more precise style of play finally gets a weapon to fit it. I'm so set in my ways from playing other FPS's (namely CS games) that it becomes so so easy can rack up kills quickly simply in not missing ~3 shots. You will get fucked over by any decent player with automatics which require no actual accuracy from point blank to medium range. With those weapons, as long as your remotely on target you are dealing significant damage. I have to do it but this is like the deagle in CS/S. On par in gunfights, but you can be outmatched (and rightfully so, by SMGs and Rifle's in their respective ranges). The shot pistol is still the better pistol in Empires IMO. It NEEDS a counterpart on BE. There should be no changes to P2 here.
If anything NFP1 should get a slight buff to compensate for the fact that they don't have a small anti-material cannon as a sidearm.
Shot pistol fills the close quarters niche, imo the P1s are just as good at it's effective range and beyond so it's pretty shit all round. BEP2 fills the role of a primary weapon almost, with an effective range around that of an SMG, it hits like a truck too. NF doesn't really get a pistol of that calibre, and I'm ok with that because of shotty pistol but they should get something in between BEP1 and BEP2 to even out the missing link in their sidearm coverage.
