That doesn't work for phones though, right? I used to use a custom brightness app to lower the brightness on my Droid X so I could use it at night. Now I leave autobrightness engaged on my SGS3. It's very aggressive and I like that. Combined with as much black as possible (to save AMOLED battery) and and it's acceptably dark when I need it to be.

For my computer, I can just turn the brightness down. I typically have issues with the mediocre max brightness, not the min brightness.

I use and love F.lux now. It's a great piece of software, and I really have noticed the difference. It would be great if there were mobile versions, especially for that awesome phone operating system Windows Phone 8.

Added a link to the software in the OP.

When you slide the bar back at night you can feel your pupils dilate.

Oh wow this software is exactly what I need, I don't finish work until 9pm or 10pm and I am often on my computer at midnight and looking at the screen feels like I am staring into the sun especially on white background sites like youtube.

Looks like there might be more programs like that on that store for your phone though.

My phone (Xperia Mini) has a light sensor that automatically changes the brightness to fit the surroundings.

As I said in the other thread, it makes browsing tv tropes 40x easier.

I felt the difference when I installed it, it's great, if you turn it up at night just to see the effects, you can feel the strain.

I was worried that the colours might be a bit... well weird, but the kind of orange glow (far left on chart) suits the lighting of the lamp above me on the wall where my desk is.

You don't even notice the orange after a few minutes.

I notice the orange, when I think about it. Otherwise I don't notice it at all.
