Anyway my "year project" is writing a text about Xenotransplantation 30-50 pages and well theres not a whole lot on the internet about it but still enough, but yeah are any of you guys here dokters or medical researchers? Or even Celbiologists? Cause I have some questions I cant fully solve with internet. e.g Facilitator celltechnology. I know how it works on a basic level but cant really find what they specifically use to stop the T memory cellsfrom working etc etc.
paradox, if you truly believe in that subject, go to your local university and find some bio teachers. Figure out their office hours and go in and say your writing a paper for another class. Then Ask Away
It was assigned to me, I didnt have a choice in making it or not, and problem is you cant get into uni buildings without a student card...
Just follow another student in. Figure out the prof schedule, suit in on a lecture. Ask to see a student's syllabus. Find the office hours and exam schedule. Go between exams so you can get alone time with the prof. It's definitely doable. I did something very similar for a high school science fair project.
Oh Paradox, You can just call the faculty get there number off the web, and just say you want to talk to a professor who is an expert in that particular field your interested, that's it.
Sometimes that doesn't work. And once they know someone is asking about xeno-whatever, they won't help him at all. Professors are usually bored during their office hours and many will talk your ear off if you sit through it. You just have to put yourself in the right position.
Nonsense, there are loads of unis where you can just barge in without a student card. I'd go to a university that's known for its biology / medical degrees and just ask a professor in his office hours. It doesn't sound as if you've done a lot of research yet. 10 minutes on the website of the KU Leuven yields these organigrams: 1, 2. 5 minutes on the VUB website gets me this: 3.
Most university profs love to talk about their field of research, just don't try to contact them via e-mail.
Exactly. You have to catch them when they are lonely during office hours a few weeks after an exam. But if you clog up their inbox or voicemail, they will just tell you to fuck off.
How bad could it be? Your country doesn't even have a government, do you think they really care about these so called student cards?
none of them know anything about Xenotransplantation. I do have the contact number of the head of transplantation for the hospital in Leuven through a doctor so that should be good; Anyway the link you provided arent really helpful cause they dont know anything about xeno, xeno is really specific cause of particular enzyms and sugars. I need to know the details not the general work method cause I have that already.
