I thought about this earlier and realised how big of an impact this could actually have.

Suggestion is: Make a "Spot" feature in the control options, so that it is already bound / can be bound to a key, rather than going through console with "bind x "emp_menu_quickcmd someshit"". This way, people will be able to use spot a lot faster WITHOUT the hazzle of going through the voice menu and binding it in console, which I know is unknown for many potential players out there.

    Thoughts?

Idea was that if we ever revamped the spotting system (we want to) then we'd bind it to Q by default, given no-one uses that for the default quickswapping.

That is a silly question baby flasche. Obviously I do, or I would not have stated it.

So did I actually, but if you're capable of rebinding your mic, then you're capable of rebinding the proposed spotting key.

X was free and close enough.

Isn't binding spotting possible in a fashion similar to squad powers?

Okay, that is all fine and dandy, but you REALLY REALLY need to fix the models on EVERYTHING. to spot/target the NF rax you have to look at its foundation, to spot/target NF Mediums, NF anything you almost have to look at the ground.

what? That is not true. I have no problem spotting anything quickly without having to look at specific spots.

Everything works perfectly fine for me. As long as I am aiming at the hitbox, it should spot.

Yeah, I honestly can't say I've had problems with that. I'll try it out either way though.

I thought binding keys was already in consideration?

    bind "mouse1" "fire1; wait 10; say Pew!"

    Problems with spotting:
    1) Spotting stuff through terrain/ stuff I'm not even looking at (Happens when I miss other things which I actually wanted to spot)
    2) Spotting cooldown (why do I have to wait 1/2/3 seconds until I can spot again, even If my first spotting order didn't hit the infantry barely in visibility)
    3) Spotting Infantry outside my visibility distance when I want to spot that vf

Use spotting as often as I do trickster, you will notice those three and many, many more.

They're minor in comparison with the issue that BloodRaven apparently has. No-one is saying spotting is perfect, but I don't have any problems actually getting stuff to spot. And cooldown is subjective, that's not a problem anyway.

This appears to have already been available from the start: try binding the command "emp_menu_quickcmd 2 0". I'll still have to include it in the controls section.

Yeah people know about this, they just want it available in the controls section, along with squad powers and squad targetting.
