The commander gets far too many audio alerts/voice notifications: Enginer turrets under attack, walls built, player killed, and so on. Remove the audio alerts for non critical events so the more important ones are not lost in some buffer. Also, the commander under attack is triggered by weapons that do no damage, fire any infantry weapon at the cv and the message will be triggered. almost positive that this is a bug.
I like them and find them very informative. And I pick up on every single one. Your inability to command effectively because of your inability to distinguish between the information isn't grounds for removing something.
Idk where we'd factor that in, and it would probably require a lot of work. It would genuinely be easier to just leave them in, it's not as if they're hard to ignore if you don't want to hear them. Hell, if you hate them that much you can replace them with empty sound files.
Just put in a system were the message will only be displayed/send/fired if its enabled in the options. The only thing that might be difficult is placing this in the commander view, which makes me wonder if it could not be placed in options instead(temporarely). EDIT: To me its not really the sounds, its more the text spam that makes it impossible to keep track of what people type in chat.
The issue that I have is not so much the amount, but with what happens when relativity unimportant notices, ie building constructed (wall) is spamed over much more important items, ie commander under attack that never get announced. sv_pure?
IF CUSTOM SOUNDS WORKED! FFFFFFF D: On-topic: The constant sounds telling me that my team sucks balls is pretty much why I never command. And I can never seem to learn the tech tree.
