Post your protips here (serious ones) Empires has lots of little things that just make life easier or just work better, I'd like to hear some that you guys have figured/found out. 1. Most weapons recoil kicks up and to the right, especially the BEMP, you can use this to hit much more reliably (learned this off trickster the other day) 2. You can use the decal from your RPG/Mortar explosion to hide BE mines. 3. In a melee fight, dont melee until you collide with the other player and stop eachother moving, this makes you way more likely to land a hit since they'll be stopped and the shitty interpolation wont be as bad. 4. bind "mouse3" "emp_menu_quickcmd 6 3" will call down a squad arty when you press mouse3. 5. NF mines on duststorm are close to invisible. 6. Never use SMG2 unless you have a really good reason to. It's DPS is nearly the same as the SMG1 at the expense of accuracy. 7. Drop Armories for your troops as much as possible. 8. To build a barracks with repair upgrade it takes 20 seconds. 9. You only need 3 seismics to kill a turret or an unbuilt wall. 10. Aim for the chest with most weapons, especially the SMG1, the kick will usually put you into headshot territory. 11. Changing class in a barracks/armory will reload all your weapons (unless you're a gren), very handy if you're out of ammo or in a firefight and you need to reload everything ASAP. 12. Holding space while firing a tank cannon will mostly negate recoil and make firing easier. 13. IF you are overheated, don't press any movement keys, you will cool faster.
4. Don't argue with the server admins. They are always right. If you feel you need to complain, post on the server's forums. 5. Don't argue with the forum moderators. They are always right, and aren't really accountable to anyone. 6. Empty's particles kill everyone's FPS. Flame him for that on a regular basis. It really doesn't, but it'll make him rage, and that'll be fun to listen to. 7. Never use SMG2 unless you have a really good reason to. SMG1 and aim for the upper body or head. 8. Accuracy upgrade and SMG1 gives you a laser SMG. 9. As commander, run over enemies in your base, and if that fails, hop out and kill them. It works most of the time, assuming you can judge what you can take, and it'll save your team a kill spawn. 10. NF mines on duststorm are close to invisible. 11. Scouting: Once you get in an enemy base, find the "special" spots on buildings where your view goes really, really, really dark. You are next to invisible there. Sab away and laugh at the enemy raging in text chat.
As commandor, always drop armouries. everywhere. It takes 20 seconds to build a rax with repair upgrade. It takes 3 seismic grenades to take down unbuilt walls.
You distorted my tips I had more useful info about using SMG1. Here's an improved version: Aim for the upper body when you start, and gravitate toward the head once you get used to the weapon. Common sense is a protip to many people. *cough* all the morons I banned *cough*
If you're fighting close to a barracks or an armory, just go in and bring the class menu up and press accept to insta-reload your gun. I think the same thing works with vehicles and repair pads, good when you use rails that takes 10 years to get full ammo for.
Seismics does not kill! Unless you put down an ammoz box and spam some AFK dude 100 times. It's so funny when you're hiding in a room or something and all you see is a bunch of seismics flying in. Of course, most of you know (or everyone SHOULD) this. Just a tip to the new ones around.
even when they don't go off next to you, your screen will shake.(hate that) Don't be commander in a large game if you have no commanding experience. Com tank is a mobile bloated target sign. Protect it!
When you get revived, stand up immediately (prone key, default: z) or you and your reviver will ride each others' dicks.
