Remember, this is a server side suggestion not a Mod change suggestion I'm sure this has been brought up before but how about making commander maps not be based on the number tickets but rather on skill and taking down the actual commander? We can currently do this by making the tickets unlimited. Just curious on how many people would go for it.
That's the idea, it will be a server_side variable so it can either be implemented by a vote, map-based setting or initiated by an admin in game.
Can't this already be done by admins of servers by just increasing the tickets of the maps to some ungodly amount?
oh jesus christ please god no.... unbreakable stalemates every other map.... 2islands has 800 tickets and that is made of fail and gay. imagine replacing '800' with 'infinite' and '2islands' with 'every map'
We've played like that before. Ofc, testing at that time used to be utterly balanced so it was just hardcore and fun. Not grinding and a bore. Drummer, I would like to see this, but I do feel you need an 'endmap' vote every hour or so. Seriously...tickets are there to end the maps quicker, and although I love epic games and tickets screw those up a lot, you still need a way to end the game (other than by victory).
AN end map vote can be given every hour or half hour after the first hour. I'll look at this again tomorrow and see what to do from there
I'm against. End map votes would solve the problem, but we already have that (RTV). Its also very unsatisfying to end a map via voting rather than killing the comm. Tickets is an effective, if not perfect, method of preventing endless matches (which can sometimes last 4-5 hours). Then again, if you're going forward with this I would make the 'end map' vote instigate the sudden death timer rather than changing the map.
im not so sure if it has to happen actually - the stalemates i mean ... unless we try it, we wont know ...
Funnily enough, I haven't seen very many uberly balanced games for a long time, so it mightn't be a problem. I have, however, seen people not finishing off teams. I don't want that to extend too long, but I don't see it that often either.
no, but I believe that when sudden death occurs each team gets unlimited since the win condition is easy as building a jeep.
